• Albufeira Marina - We begin our journey by heading south and away from the Marina, gently ascending the hill as we make our way towards the stunning coastline. Our first destination is Ponta da Baleeira, a significant navigational landmark situated on a dramatic headland. From this elevated vantage point, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Albufeira Marina, with its bustling harbour filled with boats and yachts. The vista also includes the expansive main beach of Albufeira, known for its golden sands and vibrant atmosphere, as well as the charming town itself.

As you take in the breathtaking scenery, you’ll also see the distant silhouette of Vilamoura, renowned for its luxurious resorts and golf courses. Ponta da Baleeira not only offers spectacular views but also a rich historical context, making it a perfect starting point for our exploration. Here, you can capture memorable photographs and appreciate the natural beauty and maritime significance of this unique location.

• Lagoa dos Salgados - From here, we will traverse and enjoy the scenic coastal road toward the beaches of Arrifes and São Rafael, before continuing our journey to Salgados via the quiet lanes.

Upon arriving at Salgados, a nature reserve known as Herdade dos Salgados, we can relax and appreciate the local wildlife. Here, we may encounter numerous migratory birds in their natural habitat.

• Armacao de Pera - Leaving Salgados, our next destination is the charming town of Armação de Pêra. Here, we will take a break to relax and enjoy coffee at a local café, providing the perfect opportunity to soak in the local atmosphere and capture some photos.
• Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Rocha - Our next stop is the historic Fort and Chapel of Our Lady of the Rock (Forte e Capela de Nossa Senhora da Rocha) in Porches.

Perched on a dramatic cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this site offers breathtaking views and a glimpse into the region’s rich history. The chapel, dating back to the medieval period, is a serene place of worship dedicated to Our Lady of the Rock. The adjacent fort, although mostly in ruins, adds a sense of antiquity and charm. • Albufeira - Our homeward leg takes us on a scenic journey through the quaint villages of Porches, Pera, and Guia.

Along the way, we’ll admire charming little houses and experience a more authentic side of Portugal, away from the usual tourist spots. We will also pass by the home of Sir Cliff Richard as we make our way toward the centre of Albufeira.

• Estatua de Sao Vicente de Albufeira - Our penultimate stop will be a visit to the statue of São Vicente, located in the heart of Lisbon. This striking statue honors São Vicente (Saint Vincent), the patron saint of the city. Erected on a prominent pedestal, the statue depicts São Vicente holding a lantern and is set against a backdrop offering panoramic views of Lisbon.

Saint Vincent is celebrated for his steadfast faith and martyrdom, and this monument serves as a tribute to his enduring legacy. As you take in the view from this vantage point, you’ll not only gain insight into the historical and religious significance of São Vicente but also enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Lisbon’s skyline and the Tagus River. • Albufeira Marina - Our final stop will be Marina de Albufeira, where we will conclude our tour. Here, you can unwind and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the marina. Feel free to relax at one of the many charming cafés or bars, where you can purchase a drink and savour the picturesque views of the yachts and the waterfront. It’s the perfect spot to reflect on the day’s journey and soak in the lively ambiance of Albufeira’s marina.
