  Our professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, for an amazing day trip to Alexandria. First visit Pompay’s Pillar. It was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. We will drive on to visit the Catacombs, the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock. Then we will have lunch at local restaurant in Alexandria, and then proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Then we will head for Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Thereafter you shall be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.

This monument was erected in tribute to the Emperor Diocletian in the latter part of the 4th century. Originally part of the temple of Serapis, it once stood as a majestic structure, rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. Trending forward, we will go to the Catacombs, the most extensive Roman Cemetery consisting of three layers carved into the rock. Post this, we will settle for lunch at a local dine-in in Alexandria, and then go forward to see the Qaitbay Citadel, constructed on the site of the historical Lighthouse of Alexandria. Next, we will proceed to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Following this, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Cairo.
