A wonderful day in Alexandre - This is a very interesting tour. The Catacomh underground graveyard is such a unique site, the waterfront is beautiful and the world second largest library is fascinating. My guide Eslam is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly and I enjoy his explanations and presentations. Hesham Ahmed, my driver, is an impressive driver, safe and fast and super attentive.

Day trip to Alexandria with Eslam and Mahmoud - I took this day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Omar shared the detailed plan the day before traveling. Mahmoud our driver was punctual and responsible to pick us from hotel. But the best part was visiting the monuments with Eslam our guide. He was thorough, knowledgeable. He did not rush us at any place and yet we covered everything before sunset. Best part of the trip was no one took us to any store to buy anything. Instead when I wanted to make a stop to Fahmy to try their Om Ali, they took a detour to include in their plan and offered to pay for it as well. Seaside lunch was excellent. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone.

Alexandria day trip from Cairo. Special thanks to Omar who planned my trip, mahmood our driver and our guide - Mr Eslam - During my stay in Cairo, I decided to take a day trip to Alexandria, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Egypt! Known as the “Bride of the Mediterranean,” Alexandria offered a refreshing coastal vibe and a fascinating mix of history, culture, and scenic beauty. The journey from Cairo took around 2.5 hours by car, and the drive itself was smooth and enjoyable. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and provided a great introduction to Alexandria’s rich history during the ride. Our first stop was the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a remarkable underground burial site blending Roman, Greek, and Egyptian architecture. The intricate carvings and the eerie yet fascinating atmosphere were truly captivating. Next, we visited Pompey’s Pillar and the remnants of the Serapeum. Standing beneath the towering column was awe-inspiring, and our guide’s detailed storytelling brought the ancient site to life. A major highlight was the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the modern reincarnation of the ancient Library of Alexandria. The sleek architecture and impressive collection of books, art, and exhibits made it a must-visit for anyone who loves history and culture. For lunch, we stopped at a charming seaside restaurant offering fresh seafood. The grilled fish and calamari were some of the best I’ve ever had, paired perfectly with the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Our final stop was Qaitbay Citadel, a fortress overlooking the harbor built on the site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria. Walking along the walls, we enjoyed panoramic views of the sea and city—a picture-perfect end to the day. The day trip was well-paced, with just enough time at each site without feeling rushed. I’d highly recommend this excursion to anyone staying in Cairo—it’s a fantastic way to experience Alexandria’s charm and history in just one day!

Great day in Alexandria! - My sister and I had a 17 hour layover in Cairo and we wanted to get out and see something besides the Cairo sites we had already seen and enjoyed. Normally we do things on our own - but since we had limited time, we decided to use a tour group. After reading reviews - we went with Egypt Tours Gateway and they made it so easy - they picked us up from the airport, all our tickets were included as well as an amazing dinner at a restaurant with the best view of the Mediterranean Sea! We had no idea what to expect in Alexandria - but we absolutely loved our day and are so grateful for the tour company making it so easy! Before the tour, Omar was quick to respond to any questions as we booked and revised the planned itinerary as we wanted to omit one part. We were low on Egyptian currency and we asked if we could pay by visa, and he accommodated that as well. Our driver was Mahmoud and he picked us up and dropped us off right at the airport. We felt completely safe the entire time with him. Once we were in Alexandria, we met up with our guide Eslam who was amazing! He knew so many facts and paced the tour well that we never felt hurried, but it also didn't drag. He had us laughing at his jokes all day as well. His English was excellent and he was a great guide and companion for the day. We loved our day and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone!
