You’ll also visit the palaces of Farouk, the last king in Egypt’s history.
Note: The Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays, so you will only be able to take photos from the outside.
- Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Next, visit the Catacombs, which date back to the 3rd century and feature a blend of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art.
- Fort Qaitbey - The Citadel of Qaitbay (or Fort Qaitbay; Arabic: قلعة قايتباي‎) is a 15th-century defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean Sea coast in Alexandria, Egypt. It was established in 1477 AD (882 AH) by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa’it Bay. The citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour.

Excellent experience in Alexandria with Youssed from Emo Tours - We very much enjoyed a private tour of Alexandria's highlights with our guide Youssef, who was very knowledgeable, timely, flexible to our needs and also excellent in navigating through busy tourist sites, always managing to find us a quite spot. Our driver Amed was also very professional and helpful and the car very comfortable. Thank you for a memorable day!

Nice monuments and great company - The Alexandria excursion was very fun, our Guide was Yousef and he was a fantastic Guide, he explained very well and in our language. He speaks very good Spanish and made us feel great.9Very happy with him and the driver, who brought us to all the tourist sites with great friendliness.

Brief informative tour with excellent staff - We had only half a day to spare in Alexandria and this tour made sure we see the major monuments along with scrumptious meal at a sea side restaurant within 4-5 hours. Samira (our guide) and Ashraf (our driver) were very warm, friendly and accomodating. We felt safe and taken care of with them during our tour. Best wishes and kindest regards from India.

Great guide for an amazing first day in Alexandria - First of all, everyone needs to spend time in Alexandria when they visit Egypt. This was our favorite city and our guide was amazing. If I remember correctly, his name was Mahmoud. We did everything on the tour and he suggested some extras. These extras did cost a little more, but they really added to the day and were well worth it. We got to do a boat ride in the Mediterranean, which made seeing the Citadel of Qaitbay even better. We also upgraded our lunch to a place with a view of the sea, fresh-caught fish, and fresh shrimp. The catacombs are an unexpected treasure and was a great place to start. At each location, our guide took time with us to explain things but then gave us time to explore on our own. This was a great combination of having someone there to guide you, but also having those more private moments of exploration through various sites. A suggestion that is not on this tour is the Graeco-Roman Museum. Visitors to Alexandria should not miss that museum. We were glad we did the day tour first and the next day that museum. We had the background that we needed.

Great day in Alex - Thank you Mahmoud, always very helpful and excited to be there.
My favourite moments were our extensive time in the catacombs. We even managed to arrange a short boat ride by the citadel.

Abysmal - One of the worst tours I have ever been on. The driver and the guide talked incessantly between them the whole time We felt we were interrupting when we actually had questions about Alexandria. When we alighted at the Alexandria Library she was on her mobile talking while we were looking at paintings. I asked her to move away but she wouldn't. I was ready to dismiss the driver and take an Uber back to the hthe otel. Abysmal.
