Tamer Safari’s representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you for an amazing day trip to Alexandria. Your first stop will be at Pompey’s Pillar, constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally part of the Temple of Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. Next, you’ll drive to visit the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery consisting of three levels cut into the rock. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria before proceeding to the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. The final stop will be the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, after which you’ll drive back to your hotel in Cairo.
