- Alexandria Visitors Center - We start at the Ramsay House and discuss the origins of Alexandria, Virginia. William Ramsay was a Scottish merchant and good friend of George Washington. He was one of the founders of Alexandria. This first stop contains one of our favorite hidden gems. Hint: It’s hiding in plain sight!

- Carlyle House - Travelers will discover where the American Revolution was born. No kidding! Twenty years before the Revolutionary War started, events were in motion that would lead to the American colonies declaring independence.
- Gadsby’s Tavern Museum - We will stop outside Gadsby’s and talk about its connection to early American presidents. We will also see the famous ice well!
- Hollensbury Spite House - The story of the famous Spite House will be told. We will see the famous house and make sure guests can take pictures!
- Alexandria’s Christ Church - Discover where George Washington went to church in Alexandria. You can even sit in his pew.
- Athenaeum - We will pass by the Athenaeum as we walk down Prince Street and head toward Captain’s Row. There is an abundance of fascinating sites along the 200 block of Prince Street. Beautiful homes that have stories dating back to the 18th century.
- Captain’s Row - One of Alexandria’s classic cobblestone streets. Fun and fascinating history to include one of Alexandria’s largest fires. We will discuss why it is called Captain’s Row. This will be the last stop on the tour and we will take pictures and be close to great restaurants!

Old Town's Best Tour - Wonderful tour with Tim being our incredible guide. 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about beautiful Old Town.

Nice and interesting. We never got bored! - Tim did a very good job sharing his knowledge of Alexandria's history and showing us around. Tim is a wonderful storyteller and knows a lot of cool stuff about the town.

Excellent Tour! - Great tour! As history buffs, my husband and I enjoyed this immensely. Tim really knows his stuff. He made it interesting and fun. I highly recommend even if you're not into history.

Great tour and tour guide - This was an extraordinarily wonderful tour led by our guide Wayne. I cannot say enough good things about Wayne but will try. He was engaging, informative, articulate and understandable. I have limited ability to understand guides with my hearing loss. This was not a problem on this tour. Wayne spoke slowly, clearly and loud enough. He made this tour memorable. As an individual who has traveled the world and experienced many guides Wayne would rank at top of list.
I should also mention that all of our family liked Wayne and the abundant and interesting information he conveyed.

Excellent tour & exceptional tour company - Highly recommend Alexandria History Tours!! Planning with Tim was a breeze. He was extremely responsive and went above and beyond by providing tons of local recommendations that helped me plan our family weekend in town.
The 2-hour walking tour with Wayne of beautiful historic Alexandria was fantastic! He had a wealth of information that he shared with enthusiasm and humor. Everyone loved it. Thanks to both Tim and Wayne!

A "Must Do" in Alexandria - My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of being the only 2 people in Tim's tour on a Wednesday in the off season. We had been in Alexandria for a couple days prior to the tour and had strolled by many of the landmarks without any knowledge of their historical significance. But Tim brought all of these sites and the interesting people that walked the streets of Alexandria so many years ago to life. It is clear that he is passionate about American history, Alexandria and also George Washington. He has a plethora of facts, maps and tidbits of fascinating information to share. Perhaps it is easy to be personable when you have only 2 people in your tour, but it seemed clear that he could captivate a group of any size.
I highly recommend this tour, and, if possible schedule it for your first day in Alexandria so you can appreciate the historical significance of the lovely town all during your stay and further explore some of the landmarks he points out.

Wayne Kehoe is the best - Excellent tour! Alexandria is a special city, and the tour guide Wayne Kehoe did a tremendous job walking us through the rich architectural and political history. He is rock solid on all of the key required elements, but he also demonstrated amazing command of history when our question strayed slightly off topic. We folds history into interesting stories. My daughter and I highly recommend him!
