Alice Springs to Uluru

Alice Springs - Leaving Alice Springs early, we travel towards Uluru, stopping at Mt Connor (false Uluru) lookout and Curtin Springs for a toilet break before getting to our campground for lunch.

Ayers Rock Airport - You can also opt for a complimentary pick-up service from Ayers Rock Airport or Ayers Rock Campground, where your outback adventure begins.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre - Prepare to be awe-struck by the heart of the Red Centre and region-rich heritage and Aboriginal significance which you will learn more about at the interpretive cultural centre.

Mutitjulu Waterhole - Get up close and personal with Uluru, the colossal monolith, as you embark on a base walk to the Mutitjulu waterhole, discovering sacred rock art sites and ancient creation stories.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Explore the remarkable Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia’s highest waterfall and an elders’ cave, ending your day with a mesmerizing sunset at Uluru lookout, accompanied by a hearty dinner.
Camping: Ayers Rock Coach Campground - Permanent Tents or Bush Swags (communal bathroom facilities)
Driving Distance: 130km.
Hike Distance: 2-3 km / 2-3 hours.

Uluru - Kata Tjuta - Ayers Rock

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Rise early and savour a light breakfast as you venture towards a captivating sunrise in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Witness the majestic silhouette of Kata Tjuta, a remarkable sight to behold.

Valley of the Winds - Embark on an invigorating hike through the awe-inspiring Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, marvelling at the mighty conglomerate rock formations.

Kata Tjuta - The Olgas - Conclude your Kata Tjuta adventure and return to Yulara Resort or Ayers Rock Airport for your onward journey. Estimated drop-off time is shortly after midday. To ensure a smooth trip, we strongly recommend booking an extra night in Yulara in case of unexpected delays within the National Park. Driving distance: 150 km. Hike distance: 2-5 km / 2-4 hours (weather dependent).

As you journey through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, your expert local guide will share insightful commentary, intriguing stories, and hidden gems, breathing life into the Red Centre’s secrets.
We have comfortable twin permanent safari tents providing a little more comfort, privacy, and security, or you can try out a traditional swag experience (canvas-covered bedroll).

• A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctor’s certificate is required for people over 70 years (30 days prior to travel).
• The tour operator must be notified of any known medical conditions at the time of booking. This is a very physical tour and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility.
• While we endeavour to cater to most dietary needs, passengers must advise dietary requirements to their booking agent at the time of booking. As we are venturing to remote areas we are very limited in what we can source once the tour departs, therefore prior notice is required.
• Children aged between 8 to 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under, due to safety requirements and the level of fitness required to complete the walk.
• Limited storage space in our vehicles. Baggage must be kept to 1 x 15kg travel bag, 1 x 5kg day bag. Not suitable for mobility-impaired travellers, wheelchairs, walkers or strollers.
• Please ensure you have checked the average temperatures for the time of year you are travelling and have packed adequate clothing.
• Please advise at time of booking whether you require a hire of a sleeping bag?
• Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean up and vehicle unpacking/loading, so everyone can relax together after a long day of touring. It’s also a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.
