Mountain/lake/park/ bazaar tour - Our tour guide was Aika. She kindly made sure the group introduced themselves and was commenting on each segment of the tour. She provided local history facts, a guide on the Kazakh language , and clearly identified the itinerary. At the lake she was very helpful in assisting us down the slippery path and made sure everyone had their photo opportunity. She continued to provide more information about the mountains and the lake . We then moved on to a small river for more photos where she was helpful again with photo opportunities . Next was a park but on the way commented on the health properties of tea made with the leaves from some of the autumnal trees. At the park we were given a detailed insight of the history of Kazakhstan in the last and current centuries. Then moved on to lunch at a Kazakh restaurant where Aika made an excellent choice of local dishes for us all to enjoy. It was a very convivial lunch and she made us all feel at ease. Then it was on to a wine tasting session where Aika explained the history of the vineyard and how wine making was reintroduced to the country after the policies of Gorbachev . Next was another park where we received a fulsome explanation of the impressive war memorial . After which we made our way to the Green Market , where we purchased tea made from the tree leaves noted earlier, drank horse and goat milk and tried various cheese types. Then we went for a walk around the bazaar before our final destination of a chocolate and confectionary factory shop. All in all a very pleasant day and I would say our guide Aika was the main contributor to that

Stunning views & tastes galore ! - The lake is a must see, with it's stunning blue water amongst the mountains. Just amazing scenery. Guide & van driver very professional. Ika our guide was very knowledgeable & great fun. Wine tasting was surprisingly good !!.. and lunch was tasty & abundant..a real feast! And the tasting continued into the markets.. Definitely recommend this tour. I had a fabulous time!

Stunning lake! - Wonderful day with a great group! Aika is a joy and ensured everyone had an enjoyable time as well as insight into Kazakh history and culture. The lake is stunning and well worth the trip alone. Lunch was delicious and it was great to try some local dishes. My only feedback is that the van is quite cramped and there was very little space when full.

Big Almaty lake tour and tour of Almaty with wine tasting. - The tour was great. Lake was beautiful Tour guide Aika was thorough, thoughtful and knowledgeable as well as accommodating. She’s the best tour guide in Almaty!

Awesome experience - Booked for a group tour and what a great experience, worth it to see the big almaty lake and wonderful weather though we got some rain, the experience was wonderful. Hats off to Madina our tour guide, she was awesome! Took us to taste local cuisine, great food since i am not very comfortable trying different food but the local cusines from different countries she ordered were excellent, and also the city tour. She carried rain jackets as well with her so all of us in the tour could protect ourselves from rain! definitely recommended for all who would want to see almaty in a day!

Beautiful views and culinary discoveries. - The Big Lake was incredibly beautiful, with a short walk giving us the opportunity to take it all in. The city tour was nice, though the real highlight was the wine tasting and local cuisine element - a great chance to try foodstuffs one would not normally get to try back home.
