Educational Tour Of Downtown Almaty - Very nice tour of downtown with Gulmira! We saw lots of monuments, parks, the Green Market, and I learned about the history of Kazakhstan.

Hit all the highlights downtown - Gulmira was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us the full tour! I would recommend this trip to anyone who wanted to see the highlights of downtown Almaty up close on a walking tour. Thumbs up!

Quick visit to Almaty - It was a good three walk around Almaty. I was struck about how new the city was. Very little old. Expected some old evidence of being a Silk Road city. I truth one needs to get out of Almaty and see the countryside. Also perhaps the best time to visit is the late spring to see the countryside. Unless one goes for the skiing but do not expect as many facilities as in European Alps

Ok but a bit superficial - Tour was ok but lacking in in-depth detail; could have extended the walk by one hour (tour lasted 2.5 hrs including more than 20 minute wait for the guide whilst she was in the bank) for more information & more sites. Compared to other walking tours in other cities definitely not value for money but I’m mindful it’s not a country that has a large tourist trade & the guide may still be learning.
