- Medeo - We pick you up in Almaty and drive up to the Medeo skating rink, where change to the cable car. Take a cable car up to the Shymbulak ski resort, and then on the Talgarsky Pass 3200m.

Bolshoi Talgarskiy Pereval - Here begins the hiking part of the route.
In the beginning we follow a good path in the zone of alpine meadows, then the trail passes to the lateral moraine of the glacier, smoothly rising along the moraine. Here the trail gradually disappears and we approach the foot of the glacier. Great views of the pyramids of Chkalov, Pioneer, Abay and Shkolnik peaks follow the hiker all the way up. Nice hanging glaciers Til and Ayak are clearly visible on the slopes of the Fizkulturnik summit. We hike further, by the open part of the glacier. The relief is very diverse: glacial ducts, grottoes and cracks.
A way back leads along the “closed” part of the glacier where its thickness hides under the moraine stones. We reach a pass and then take a cable car back to Medeo skating rink. From here we drive back to Almaty. - Almaty - Way back to Almaty may take another 1 hour

During the journey, you’ll get to view the famed Medeo skating rink, Shymbulak ski resort and reach the highest point of the Trans-Ili mountain range - Talgar peak (5017m).

The tour remains shut during the middle seasons (March-May and October-November) due to the high risk of avalanches.
It is suggested that you wear suitable clothing and hiking boots for the excursion.
The hiking portion will total about 4-5 hours.
