- Shymbulak Top - The “Shymbulak” Mountain Resort is situated in the well-known Small Almaty Gorge of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, within the Kok Ashyk Valley at an altitude of 2260 meters above sea level, just a 30-minute drive from Almaty’s center. Established in 1954, Shymbulak has been a training ground for Soviet skiers since the mid-1950s, hosting the USSR and Kazakhstan championships. Each February, skiers compete for the “Alexandra Artemenko Prize,” named after the 11-time USSR champion, master of sports, and 1956 Olympic Games participant.
- Shymbulak Top - Ascend to the Talgar Pass at 3163 meters via cable car. Check-in at the Yurt Lodge, where traditional yurts offer floor sleeping arrangements with sleeping bags, pillows, and mats provided. The yurt and floor are heated, with electricity and outlets available. Meals are served in a separate Yurt-Restaurant nearby, which also has a bathroom with hot tap water and a toilet seat. While there is no shower or sauna, wet wipes and snow are available, and water can be boiled for washing if needed.
Hike to Baiseitova Peak at 3450 meters for acclimatization, then return to the yurt. Participate in a brief avalanche safety training session, followed by dinner in the Yurt-Restaurant and rest.
- Shymbulak Top - Enjoy breakfast in the Yurt-Restaurant. Engage in ski-touring or split-boarding near the Shymbulak resort, exploring sidecountry elements. Depending on snow, weather conditions, and participants’ skill levels, the most suitable slopes will be selected. Nearby attractions include Shkol’nik, Edelweiss, Chkalov, and Abay peaks, with elevations ranging from 3200 to 3800 meters. Return to the yurt for rest, followed by a traditional-style dinner in the Yurt-Restaurant. Overnight stay in the sleeping yurt.
- Shymbulak Top - Breakfast is served at 05:00. Embark on ski-touring or split-boarding in the Bogdanovich Glacier area to Karlytau Peak, with elevations ranging from 3200 to 4100 meters, lasting 6-8 hours. Return to the yurt for dinner in Kazakh national style. Overnight stay in the yurt.
- Shymbulak Top - Breakfast is served at 06:00. Continue ski-touring or split-boarding around the Bogdanovich Glacier to Fizkul’turnik, Til’, or Pioneer glaciers, with elevations ranging from 3200 to 4000 meters, lasting 4-6 hours. Return to the yurt, pack, and check out. Descend to Medeu and transfer to a hotel in Almaty.
