Almaty - Medeo - Talgarsky Pass - Shymbulak Peak - Touyuk-Su

Medeo - Guests are picked up in the morning in Almaty and driven to the Medeo skating rink. From there, a cable car ride takes them to Talgarsky Pass via the Shymbulak ski resort. At the pass, which is situated at an elevation of 3200 meters above sea level, the walking portion of the journey begins.

Shymbulak - The trail to Shymbulak Peak (3450m) starts at the pass and follows the mountain ridge to the summit. The route presents no technical challenges and does not require any special skills or climbing equipment. The trail is comfortable and safe, logically avoiding rocky areas. In winter, the trail is covered with snow.

The ascent to the peak takes between 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the season and trail conditions. In favorable weather, lunch can be enjoyed at the top, surrounded by breathtaking panoramas. From Shymbulak Peak, visitors can enjoy the best view of the snow-capped peaks of the Northern Tien Shan, dominated by the highest point of the ridge - Talgar Peak. Additionally, the best panorama of Almaty is visible, with the city sprawling at the base.
The descent from the summit follows the same path/ridge back to the pass. From the pass, a cable car ride returns guests to the Shymbulak ski resort.

Mynzhylky - After hiking to the top of Shymbulak Peak, guests return to the pass and take a cable car down to the Shymbulak ski resort. From the resort, a 40-minute walk leads to the Trekking Club alpine cabin, located at 2600m in the Touyuk-Su gorge, surrounded by towering kilometer-long cliffs.

At the cabin, guests are accommodated, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight.

Touyuk-Su Glacier Hike - Almaty

Almaty - After hiking back to the cabin from the glacier, guests have lunch and prepare for the descent to the city.

Once packed, they hike down to Shymbulak, from where they take a cable car (or eco-taxi) to Medeo, and then drive to Almaty. Guests are dropped off at their hotel.
