No previous knowledge is required to drive a snowmobile. All you need is a regular driver’s license, and it’s as simple as it is fun. A thorough safety introduction and driving instruction will be given before the trip starts. You will ride in pairs, a driver and a passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to change seats during the trip. We drive into the remote mountain plateau Finnmarksvidda, one of Europe’s last wilderness areas. We follow the old postal path up to the highest point of the plains. The temperature on the plateau can vary from a few plus degrees to well below freezing. We can not promise you windless days and clear skies, but whatever the weather, the nature on the plateau will be just as magnificent and impressive. Hot drinks and a snack / cake give a cozy touch to the outdoor experience.

We invite you on a journey beyond Alta to our vintage, 150-year-old mountain hut located in the Gargia valley. After gearing you up for the forthcoming thrill, we guide you down the ancient postal route towards the very edge of Finnmarksvidda, leading to a mountain chain named Beskades. We navigate through forests blanketed with snow, finally reaching the vast open expanse of the mountain plains. Here you get to admire the pure arctic wilderness, enveloped only by snow and the endless sky.
During the journey, you will gain insight into our heritage and the arctic way of life, along with savouring Finnmarks local delicacies through homemade snacks.
Our licensed guide will teach you how to operate the snowmobile and ensure you have an unforgettable experience.
- Only the holders of a valid B class drivers license are allowed to drive a snowmobile in Norway. You are required to present your license for verification before taking part on the ride. Guests without a valid driving license are only allowed to be passengers.
- You will share a snowmobile with another passenger, so each of you will get to drive half of the trip.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
