Good and bad - We did a 2 night stay at Splash Landings Hotel we had a great stay and really enjoyed the park, the staff at the hotel were fantastic very helpful, there was just couple of things that let things down. The breakfast on the morning was awful cold bland food bland cold coffee dirty plates and cutlery and the food and merchandise in the park was overly expensive.

Magically amazing - Our stay was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us, we really enjoyed our visit and our children absolutely loved it and we will be making this a regular trip. The breakfast included was brilliant I don't have any bad feed back at all. The entertainment at the Cbeebies hotel was magical and our children Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing place and must visit - The place is amazing and lots of fun. My kids just love it. There was lot to do for kids… the best part was it is completely indoor so UKs weather has no role to play.. Only thing to add is to have couple of more water slides for young kids would have done a great job. Enjoyed thoroughly will come back again.

Don't waste your money or time. - The waterpark was a joke, the queue for the rings for master blaster was 75 mins longer than the smiler! And that was just for the rings not even the slide itself which you had to queue for after! £114 and we got on nothing! The rapids was a free for all, a few rubber rings chucked into a rammed rapids probe snatching them off others when they were free, the park was heaving and for the money I spent was a rip off? Rude swimmers, the place was so full, my pregnant daughter could not get a seat neither could my wife, will not be conned into going there again, my 9yr old son was fed up as he could not get on the slides that he was looking forward to. We'll go to waterworld next time. 🤬

Not as good as last year - Not enough lockers or changing rooms for the capacity. Very overcrowded for the size of the waterpark. Many attendees ignoring the ‘NO PHOTOGRAPHY/FILMING’ rule. Very expensive for tickets. Not as warm in there as it was this time last year unfortunately which meant the jacuzzi was absolutely full to capacity. Disappointed that there are no evening sessions and feel that the waterpark shouldn’t shut at 5. Some slide queues were about an hour long and when the sessions are only 2.5 hours it’s pointless trying to get on there. Age range probably suits 5-16 years.

Waterpark and Splash Landings Hotel - The water park was much smaller than we expected, and there was a pungent stench in the air all around changing rooms and in some of the pool areas too. The Splash Landings hotel also had this same stench in the corridor leading to our room, which caused us to wonder if it was the carpet or not. The room was clean however (albeit a little dated), and the staff were excellent, with good service too.

Staff rude and hotel shocking for the price. - Stayed at the treehouse hotel absolutely shocking. Absolutely over run with kids no control from the staff on site parents drunk with kids running wild round the hotel. Room 250 was well used and was showing its age. Staff rude unwilling to help. So much so me and my other half left booked a last minute hotel luckily. Never expected it to be this bad. Would have understand if the it's was cheap but £188 for one night without park tickets. Had such great memories of Alton towers over the years. Feel ripped off not value for money all very very disappointed.

Terrible afternoon at the waterpark - I have been to the water park a few times before (but not for a few years) and enjoyed it. This time was a very different though. We were greeted with the smell of urine in the changing rooms and unless you carried a few 20p pieces, you could not lock a locker. Then we entered the very overcrowded pool area, where there was nowhere to put our towels and all of the pools had too many people in them. We thought that we would go on the ring rides instead and came upon the massive queues for them (one queue being 60 minutes!). We joined one of the smaller queues and went on once, but the queue had since grown, and it was too cold to stand around and queue again. We manage the outside slides without waiting too long and went into the jacuzzi to warm up. My daughter put her goggles on and swam under the water, stating it was filthy when she came back up! We gave up with the water and thought that we would get some food, only to find that the cafe had shut, one hour before the pool closed. The only food available were pork hotdogs and nachos. We did ask a member of staff if they could help us get some plantbased food, but they very nicely said they they couldn’t and after we had told them about the awful meal that we had in the Secret Garden the previous evening, they said that they don’t eat there as it is so bad and recommended a restaurant a few miles away (the second member of staff to do so). We had no option as the kids were hungry to go to the bar and get nachos and drinks. At 4.55pm we went to the bar and bought some more drinks, thinking that we would let the rush of people go into the shower at 5pm, finish our drinks and then shower and change. At 5pm we were asked to leave the table. When we pointed out we still had our drinks and had only just got them, the lifeguard replied that he didn’t get paid overtime. We were then herded like cattle into the shower area and a net was closed in behind us. We then had to queue for the showers while holding our drinks and again smelling the lovely stench or urine. We eventually got to a shower to realise that it was freezing cold! Not wanting pneumonia, we decided to just get changed and showered back at the room. Only they were no changing rooms available and we had to hang around waiting for one, not only holding our clothes but also still the drinks. We eventually managed to get changed and tried to talk to the person on the desk outside, but he said that it wasn’t his job and wasn’t interested. This was a waste of an afternoon for us and we would have been better just staying in the theme park. We will not be retuning to the water park again, which is a shame, because it used to be good. After our most recent visit, it appears that Alton Towers are trying to cut costs and that is ending up with poor customer experiences! The staff don’t seem happy in the their employment either!
