The promise of witnessing the majestic Sri Lankan elephants in their natural habitat and the thrill of possibly spotting a leopard in Yala National Park was enough to draw me to this island paradise. The day began with a warm welcome from our guide, whose infectious smile set the tone for the adventure ahead.
