- Amalfi - Once everyone is on board and briefed about the day’s plan, we’ll set off westward towards Positano.
The journey will take us along the Amalfi Coast’s best beaches, past natural rock arches, and into sea caves, allowing us to admire the old watchtowers scattered along the coast.
We’ll stop at beaches accessible only by sea, with time for snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and exploring grottoes.
Shortly after leaving Amalfi’s center, we’ll approach the Saint Andrew Grotto, a large natural sea cave filled with stalactites, named after Amalfi’s patron saint, Andrea.
After passing Duoglio and Santa Croce beaches, we’ll visit the “Arc of Lovers,” a natural rock arch shaped like two kissing elephants, formed millions of years ago by sea erosion. Young couples used to marry atop it not too long ago.
We’ll then cruise past the ancient fishing village of Conca dei Marini, near Sophia Loren’s villa, and see the historic hotel “Il Saraceno” on La Vite Beach.
- Conca dei Marini - Once an ancient fishing village, Conca dei Marini offers stunning views of the villages of Furore and Praiano, as well as the islands of Li Galli and Capri, and the famous Faraglioni Rocks. Further into this basin, we’ll find the small Runghetiello Grotto and its tiny beach, where we’ll anchor for a break to swim or snorkel.
- Fiordo di Furore - After leaving Conca dei Marini, we’ll reach the famous Furore Fjord, Italy’s only natural fjord and the site of the international diving competition “MarMeeting.” Every July, professional divers from around the world compete by jumping from the 28-meter-high bridge.
- Praiano - Continuing to the village of Praiano, we’ll get a close look at the larger Africana Grotto, where the water has a distinctive blue color due to unique light refraction.
- Positano - Finally, we’ll round Capo Sottile and cruise to Positano, where we’ll take another break for snorkeling at the secluded La Porta beach, accessible only by sea and thus uncrowded.
The return trip to Amalfi will offer a different but equally stunning view of both sea and land.
