Highlights
  • Lempuyang Temple - Lempuyang Temple is a Hindu place of worship situated in the eastern part of Bali on Mount Lempuyang. The temple is divided into three sections: Penataran Lempuyang, Lempuyang Madya, and Lempuyang Luhur, which is located at the summit of Mount Lempuyang. Tourists often visit Penataran Lempuyang Temple at the base. From this level, visitors can enjoy a clear view of the majestic Mount Agung. The Lempuyang gate offers a perfect spot for tourists to take photos, with photographers available on-site.
  • Tirta Gangga - Tirta Gangga is a recreational park built by the King of Karangasem. The park features a garden with a fish pond and a bathing pool fed by a pristine spring. The king used to place stepping stones and statues in the pond, where he would walk and contemplate matters of the kingdom, seeking solutions to problems while clearing his mind.
  • Goa Raja Waterfall - The journey to Goa Raja Waterfall is filled with breathtaking natural scenery, resembling a hidden paradise. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a stunning waterfall and a clear spring water bathing pool. Nature enthusiasts will find this place particularly delightful.
  • Kanto Lampo Waterfall - Kanto Lampo Waterfall is a popular destination for tourists who enjoy expressing themselves. The beautiful waterfall cascades down rock walls, creating a picturesque scene perfect for photography.
  • Besakih Temple - Besakih Temple, located in Besakih Village, Rendang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali, Indonesia, is a complex of temples. It includes one central temple (Pura Penataran Agung Besakih) and 18 companion temples (1 Pura Basukian and 17 others). Pura Basukian is where Hyang Rsi Markendya received the first revelation of God, marking the beginning of the Hindu Dharma Religion in Bali. Pura Besakih serves as the center of activities for all temples in Bali. Among the temples in the complex, Pura Penataran Agung is the largest, featuring the most pelinggih buildings, various types of upakara, and serving as the focal point of the complex. It houses three main shrines called Padma Tiga, symbolizing Tri Purusha: Siwa, Sada Siwa, and Parama Siwa, representing three levels of spiritual awareness.
  • Ujung Water Palace - Taman Ujung Soekasada, initially built in 1901 as Dirah Pool, was intended for those practicing black magic. The King of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik, later transformed it into a royal retreat with the help of Dutch architect Van Den Hentz, Chinese architect Loto Ang, and a local architect. The palace features classic buildings and offers a stunning panorama from its highest point, adorned with large, roofless pillars. From this vantage, visitors can see the blue ocean of Ujung Beach to the southeast and the green Bukit Bisbis hill.
  • Tukad Cepung Waterfall - The name Tukad Cepung Waterfall derives from “Tukad,” meaning river in Balinese, and “Cepung,” meaning channel. This enchanting waterfall, fed by a spring above, flows through a cave opening, captivating visitors with its unique charm.
  • White Sand Beach - Virgin Beach, also known as White Sand Beach, is a serene and natural beach far from the crowds. It is the only beach in Karangasem with white sand, although its color varies due to the volcanic content from nearby Mount Agung. Located about 33 km from Mount Agung, it takes approximately an hour and a half to reach by car. Visitors can ask locals for directions, as the beach is relatively remote. Locals often refer to it as Perasi Beach, named after the village it is located in.
  • Goa Lawah Temple - Goa Lawah Temple, situated in Pasinggahan Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency, Bali, is about 40 km from Denpasar. The temple is famous for the cave in its main area, home to a colony of bats. Goa Lawah Temple was also a significant site during the Kusamba War between the Royal Dutch East Indies Army and the people of Klungkung.
  • Lahangan Sweet - Lahangan Sweet in East Bali is gaining popularity for its stunning natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy a perfect sunrise view, see Mount Rinjani in the distance, and admire the Amed beach panorama from bamboo tree houses and stilt houses at the Lahangan Sweet tourist attraction.

Lots of beauty and lots of driving. - Bali is insanely beautiful, but you have to navigate the insane traffic and tiny roads to see all that you need to visit. Luckily, Puti Adi was a driver/guide as good, if not better than, Jason Statham in The Transporter. Nice guy, fun trip and I felt very safe driving with him. There's certainly going to be a lot of sitting in the car for this particular journey, but you're in good hands with Putu Adi
