Amazing visit with a fabulous guide - Wayan is a perfect guide for any Balinese adventure! He took me to the Gates of Heaven, Tita Gangga and the Goa Lowah bar temple on one day and Goa Gajah and an artist village on another day. Wayan is so helpful And kind. He is full of great local information and takes some amazing photos for you. I learned a lot and have so many great memories and photos. Be sure to book him for any exploration you wish to do in Bali. He is the best!

Be prepared to wait - Looking at the photos of the gates of heaven online you would assume that there’s water, that’s an incorrect assumption. It is in fact a reflection made in the way that the photo was taken. You will see once you get there but it is not water it’s simply a reflection. If you’re going to go to this attraction I would highly suggest going very early as the line can get very long. We waited in line for over two hours to take our photos. You get more poses per person with the option to take photos as a group as well. The line moves fast but not that fast. The view is amazing once you’re there however lower your expectations before you get there as to not be disappointed. Also should be noted that there is is in fact a reflection made in the way that the photo was taken. You will see once you get there but it is not water it’s simply a reflection. Also should be noted that there is a little bit of a hike to get to the gates of heaven. You will have to adorn a sarong, they do not charge for a sarong however they asked that you give a donation in whatever amount you see fit. Also if you are a woman who is menstruating during this time you are not allowed to enter the temple which will lead you to the gates of heaven. Plan accordingly!
