Additional Information

The Amman city tour begins at Amman citadel

The Amman city tour commences at the renowned Amman Citadel or Jebel AlQalaea, which sits atop one of the seven hills that make up Jordan’s vibrant capital, Amman. This historic site boasts structures from various time periods, including the monumental Temple of Hercules, the Ayyubid watchtower, and the iconic Hand of Hercules statue. Following this, visitors will explore the semi-circular Roman Theater, which hails from the era of Roman rule. Its 6,000 seats once echoed with the sounds of live music and performances, a tradition that continues in the present day.

Next in the itinerary is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, which is a storehouse of precious relics from bygone times.

To conclude the tour within the city, guests will have the opportunity to browse through the bustling traditional markets.

Then, the tour ventures north to the historic ruins of Jerash, a remarkable example of a Greco-Roman provincial city in the Middle East. Upon entering, one can admire Hadrian’s Arch, erected in 129 AD to honor Emperor Hadrian’s visit, before making the return journey to Amman.
