Additional Information

If you’re looking to explore our exquisite city in the utmost comfort, our boats present the perfect solution. Our open boat offers plenty of room and is powered by a whisper-quiet electric engine, ensuring a peaceful journey. The supreme comfort of our cushioned seats and plush pillows will make you feel like royalty as you sail through the canals. During the colder months, we provide a cosy heated boat. We don’t subscribe to impersonal audio tours; our skilled guides will share enthralling tales about the canals, usually only known by the locals - you’ll truly experience the city and uncover its hidden gems. Furthermore, we sport a fully-stacked bar offering an assortment of drinks ranging from soft drinks such as Coca Cola, Fanta, and Sprite to Strawberry mojuitos. A delightful indulgence.

Please note, this tour is conducted not by me, but by the wonderful team at Flagship. If you’re interested in a tour with Captain Jack, make sure to reserve the All Inclusive.

  • In winter time we use a closed and heated boat.

Captain Roland captivated our group - We enjoyed a beautiful summer day in Amsterdam. Roland was charming and informative. He took us through famous canals and quiet, cozy canals- a nice overview of Amsterdam. He was able to answer all our questions and we even got to cruise by his childhood home. Captain Jacks Canal cruises are the best way to see the city. We will book this again!

Good tour - Seeing Amsterdam with a narrator to explain things. The tour is great we had a sunny day the boat is completely open. A little hard to board for seniors.

Canal crews - Wonderful job by the guides explaining the interesting, funny and not-so-funny details of the canal system. Only thing was that the guides at the meeting point need to be a tad proactive, since they are the ones who know the details of the trip and not the tourist.

Gliding on the water of Amsterdam's magical canals - The ride is nice and the atmosphere on board is nice. The employees are kind and helpful (I changed hours and days).

Not what is offered on this page by Captain Jack. Check reviews for Flagship instead. - Read the details but don’t believe them. This trip is outsourced to Flagship, nothing to do with Captain Jack. It says that. It also has a long list of about 60 places you will pass. You may well pass them but you won’t know about it. Only about a quarter of the list were mentioned so I have no idea if we saw them or not. The boat might be spacious but we were told to squeeze up to be tightly packed in as they sold more tickets and let people who were early get on our boat. Drinks are available to buy and although mentioned a few times it was pushed too hard. So all that was the not good stuff. What was good was the skipper and commenter/bar man seemed pleasant people. The story teller told us lots about the houses we could see, why they were thin and some wonky and some history about how the major got to have a nice house in a posh area. Stories about the canal boats and why 60000 bikes are fished out of the canals each year. All together it was ok, a nice way to while away an hour. Just don’t expect what is offered.

Packed boat - Nice tour with great info. But I think they oversold the boat and there were 31 people on plus the 2 crew. (33). It was so packed you couldn’t move a millimeter and there was no way to stand to get a photo, etc. Was not happy with that part at all but the crew and actual tour were fine.

Poor - Terrible Could not hear the guide because the Captain had the radio on to loud. I realise he needs it on for safety reasons to hear other boats. But why so loud & can’t he wear an ear piece?
