Join us for a leisurely, enjoyable group (limited to 24) open boat cruise throughout Amsterdam’s canals over the summer period. But this is not simply a boat trip. You’ll engage with traditional Dutch snacks, beverages, tales, historical facts, and laughter. You’ll explore Amsterdam’s rich past and much more. Plus, you’ll connect with guests from across the globe who communicate in English. So not only will you learn about the Netherlands, but also France, India, Spain, Andorra, Italy, the USA, and much more along the way. And, as my friends and I will host you for the entire journey, we will amuse you with fascinating insights and lively anecdotes.
I only operate open boats, so on sunny days you will have an incredible view.
- Due a lot of traffic at the dock, I can’t wait more than 5 minutes. Please make sure you are at the dock 10 minutes before departure.
- A fairly big step needs to be taken to get in the boat. Of course we will assist you.
- Beware all my boats are open. So when it rains, you can get wet. But rebooking with rain is always possible
- I always try to give the best tour possible (5*). But in rare occasion things don’t go as you and me would like. Please let me know asap. Aither direct or send me an email of text. I will contact you.
- The tour is a historical canal cruise, it is not a booze cruise. So if you are looking for a bachelor party boat or any other booze cruise, this is not the cruise for you.
- Captain Jack is collaboration between friends. Captain Jack is not perse himself on the boat.
- There are two startinglocations. Check your ticket and/or comfirmation for the right starting point!
- There is no toilet on the boat.
- Due Health regulations (regarding food) animals are not allowed (service animals excluded).

Highly recommend this canal tour (and all the drinks and snacks!) - We LOVED our canal tour with Albert. My wife and I are traveling with both sets of parents (one of which is 93!), and this tour was comfortable for everyone, fun, informative, and fully stocked with wine, beer, sodas, cheese and sausages, and lots of snacks. They had padded seats, blankets (since it was bit cold), and umbrellas in case we needed them (it’s April and so it’s rainy off and on). Albert was so nice, knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. The smaller, open top boat was also amazing (especially since the weather cooperated today!). Highly recommend this tour!

Do this tour, enjoy the experience - I’ve done the canal cruise before, a couple of years ago and on a big, long boat. Today’s canal boat tour with Captain Jacks was by far the best experience, super friendly Captain Ko and a new Captain Tim, equally friendly with lots of stories. If you want a tour with a group of new friends, do this adventure.

Captain Onno made the Cruise! - We had such a good time on our Captain Jack tour on 4/19. It was a bit rainy so we had to have the cover on he boat but Captain Onno provided plenty of fun history and made the trip truly special! I would highly recommend to any friends traveling to Amsterdam. Captain Onno was the best!

Disappointed - Disappointing experience on this canal cruise. Our captain (not Jack) was hard to hear and didn’t provide great or interesting information. The boat is not covered and it had rained on/off all day, so the seats and blankets were wet. It was unusually cold and even colder during the cruise. It rained (again) and the cheese got wet and it rained in my drink. Yes, you are told up front the boat is not covered and we took the risk - it did not pay off and I wouldn’t take the risk again with so many other great options available that have covered boats. It was definitely not worth it.

Disappointed - Was pouring rain and sleeting and the captain refused to refund my money. I told him we would not be going even though we went down to the area to find the boat. This particular boat was recommended by a friend that’s why I booked with captain Jack. Very disappointed he wouldn’t cancel and refund my money. Will book elsewhere the next trip
