Great company - The staff is really nice and helpful. The boat was also good, which was easy to control. We were 4 in a boat for 7 and that was really spacious. We went to the suggested 2 hours route and pretty enjoyed it.

Excellent tour, highly recommended - I booked the tour in January as I was doing a mini-cruise from Southampton to Amsterdam with three friends. I chose Eco Boats because I wanted to support environmentally friendly, sustainable small businesses and this company was a good fit. The included drink was an added bonus :) The online booking process was simple and straightforward. I was able to save the tickets directly to my electronic wallet and received a confirmatory email with directions. I booked the latest available tour as we weren't sure what time our cruise was due to dock, this turned out to be after 5pm due to high winds, and as it happened we only made the tour by the skin of our teeth! Thankfully Alfred/Olfred (apologies if my spelling is out) was waiting on the steps for us. He had tried to contact me, but I missed his call. Anyway, thanks to his patience we didn't miss our tour. The description of where to catch the tour was excellent and the green flag helped too. It would have been useful to know that it's not possible to get directly through the Central Station to the pick up point - you have to walk around either end of the building from the tram stop and through an underpass but we made it and Alfred knew who we were as soon as we approached him. We hurried to board the boat where we were offered selection from a variety of drinks. We took our seats, drinks were distributed, safety instructions given and off we went. We started the tour in the evening light and finished in the dark which gave us some marvellous photo opportunities. Alfred was witty, knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was everything that we had hoped for and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend this tour and will use them again if I return to Amsterdam!! Thank you Eco Boats :)

Ecoboats - Beautiful views, very good pilot who really explained to us in detail and with passion the different works. Only downside we had a little trouble identifying the departure platform in the dark so a little stress before the departure not to arrive on time. Optional drinks are at very affordable prices and small cover available

A lovely evening seeing Amsterdam in the dark. - Igor, our guide for the evening was great. He gave us just enough information without talking all the time but pointed out all the interesting points. The boat was warm enough for an evening cruise. The lights made the canals look so lovely.

Great tour, great boat, but not a good overall experience - We rented a boat yesterday in Amsterdam, and while the experience could’ve been entirely pleasant, a few things ruined it. First, the map. It blew away very easily—yes, we were warned, but maybe securing it to the boat with a wire would be a good idea? The €15 penalty for losing it feels excessive. Fine, we’ll take the blame for that one; we could have held onto it better. But what really annoyed me was being denied access to the toilet after paying €135 (boat + city tax + lost map fee). Apparently, the toilet is “only for women.” I was sent to the nearby public pissoir instead—a spiral of horror. The smell was like a Dixi box at the end of King’s Day, with two used sanitary pads on the ground and a trash bag adding to the decor. Thanks to the wind, I ended up with my own urine on my jacket and jeans. Lovely. Meanwhile, there were 5-6 employees on site, not really doing much. It seems like they could have used some of that idle time to maintain a clean toilet for all customers.
