• Anne Frank House - Located on the historic Prinsengracht, this renowned house was the hiding place for Anne Frank and her family during the challenging times of World War II.

• Westerkerk - The Westerkerk (English: Western Church) is a Reformed church within the Dutch Protestant church in central Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is situated in the westernmost part of the Grachtengordel neighborhood (Centrum borough), adjacent to the Jordaan, between the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht.

• Koninklijk Theater Carre - The Royal Theatre Carré (Dutch: Koninklijk Theater Carré) is a Neo-Renaissance theatre in Amsterdam, located near the river Amstel. Established in 1887, it was initially intended as a permanent circus venue. Today, it primarily hosts musicals, cabaret shows, and pop concerts.

• The Jordaan - The most widely accepted theory about the name’s origin is that it derives from the French word jardin, meaning garden, as many streets and canals in the Jordaan are named after trees and flowers. Another theory suggests that the Prinsengracht canal was once called Jordaan (the Dutch name for the river Jordan), and the neighborhood beyond the canal adopted this name. • The Amstel - The Amstel is the largest canal, and Amsterdam was established from this canal, which was originally a river. Fishermen built a “dam” and named it Amstel’re’dam.

• Dutch National Opera & Ballet - Dutch National Opera (DNO; formerly De Nederlandse Opera, now De Nationale Opera in Dutch) is a Dutch opera company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Its current home is the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, located in the Stopera building, a modern structure designed by Cees Dam and Wilhelm Holzbauer, which opened in 1986.

• Magere Brug - Among Amsterdam’s many bridges is the picturesque Magere Brug, known in English as the Skinny Bridge. This wooden drawbridge was once so narrow that two pedestrians could barely pass each other. To accommodate increasing traffic on the Amstel, a wider bridge replaced the original in 1871.

• Seven Bridges View Point - Since most canals in Amsterdam curve, it is rare to see through so many bridges at once!

• Munt Tower (Munttoren) - The Munttoren, also known as De Munt, is officially called Regulierstoren and was once part of the Regulierspoort. This city gate was one of the three main gates of Amsterdam’s medieval fortifications. The gate was named after the Reguliersklooster (1394-1532), a monastery that stood at the later Keizersgracht outside the Regulierspoort.

• Herengracht - The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside these main canals are 1,550 monumental buildings. The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Jordaan, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, contributing to Amsterdam’s reputation as the “Venice of the North.”

• Rijksmuseum - The Rijksmuseum was founded in The Hague in 1800 and relocated to Amsterdam in 1808, initially housed in the Royal Palace and later in the Trippenhuis. The current main building, designed by Pierre Cuypers, opened in 1885. After a ten-year renovation costing €375 million, the main building was reopened by Queen Beatrix on April 13, 2013. In 2013 and 2014, it was the most visited museum in the Netherlands, with record numbers of 2.2 million and 2.47 million visitors. It is also the largest art museum in the country. Our boats will sail along the Prinsengracht, offering a view of the Rijksmuseum.

The museum displays 8,000 objects of art and history from its total collection of 1 million objects spanning the years 1200–2000, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, and Johannes Vermeer. The museum also features a small Asian collection, showcased in the Asian pavilion.

• It is colder on the water, please bring warm clothing and don’t get surprised by the chilly Dutch weather
• Our stewards in the bright orange shirts are there to inform and help you.
• A fairly big step has to be made into the boat. Our stewards will assist you with this.
• When a lot of rain is predicted and/or the weather is colder than expected, the boat will be covered.
• If you are unhappy with your experience, please let us know directly or come by the office at Leliegracht 50D (around the corner of the Anne Frank House).
• No bachelor / birthday party groups allowed, please call us for a private boat option.
