Highlights
  • The Jordaan - The most common theory on the origin of the name is as a derivation of the French word Jardin, meaning garden: most streets and canals in the Jordaan are named after trees and flowers. Another theory is that the Prinsengracht canal was once nicknamed Jordaan (the Dutch name for the river Jordan) and that the neighborhood beyond the canal came to be called this as well. Our Flagship canal tour will start and end here in the Jordaan.

  • Anne Frank House - The Anne Frank house at Prinsengracht 263 is where the cruise departs.

  • Houseboat Museum - Our boats will cruise along with the houseboat museum at the Prinsengracht.

  • 9 Little Streets (Negen Straatjes) - Our boats will cruise along the Negen Straatjes.

  • Herengracht - The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings. The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, contributing to Amsterdam’s fame as the “Venice of the North”.

  • Magere Brug - One of Amsterdam’s many bridges is the beautiful Magere Brug, known to English speakers at the Skinny Bridge. This wooden drawbridge was once so narrow that it was hard for two pedestrians to pass each other. To cope with increasing traffic on the Amstel, a wider bridge replaced the narrow original in 1871.

  • Dutch National Opera & Ballet - Dutch National Ballet develops, produces and presents ballet at the highest international level. We aim to reach a wide public and to bring today’s audiences into contact with the beauty and passion of this art form. Come in and be inspired by our spectacle – we promise to give you a warm welcome.

  • Huis Marseille - Huis Marseille Museum for Photography is a photography museum on Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, located in a monumental canal house dating from 1665. It is the first museum in the Netherlands that focuses specifically on photography as an art form. Since 1999 there has been a new exhibition every three months.

Oversll good. Will choose different tour boat next time. - Nice tour but didn’t realize it was a closed boat. Thought it was going to be open air. Definitely should go with open air - better view.

Moderate round trip - A special experience. Unfortunately, it is mainly about the drink and making fun of the Dutch. Everything with a lot of humor so that made the trip fun. But for this money I would definitely not recommend the tour.

Poor organisation - Paperwork said "departure Anne Franks house" " Right in front of Anne Frank House - look for the crew in orange". My friend and I waited in the cold outside Anne Frank's house for 45 minutes, only to be told by the crew in orange right outside Anne Franks House" when they started to load us on the boat at the time of departure that our trip was in fact in the next canal along and this trip was the cheese and wine trip! We hot footed it to the next canal - got there at 1 minute past departure and saw no sign of a boat, then we saw an orange top coming towards us saying we were late!, we explained we were not late but nobody told us from their company we were to go to a different canal and a different boat, we were early and waited where we were told to! There were two other groups that were waiting like we were and missed this trip too. Once the lady realised we had been on time/early and not late, she said that it was the fault of the "stupid young 20 year olds they employed", took us back to her office and gave us a refund. Organisation a shambles. Bitterly disappointed because this was only chance my friend had of doing this boat trip as only in Amsterdam for the night and we had organised our evening around doing this trip.
