Totally worth the time if you want to learn something. - Excellent tour. Our guide James was so knowledgeable and explained the horrific events in a comprehensive manner. He suggested places to return to for further exploration. Learned so much more from this tour than the Ann Frank house (not included). A must for all Amsterdam visitors. Ask for James!

Phenomenal tour with James!! - The tour was so incredible because of the guide, James Samuels. He was extremely knowledge able. I don’t know if you request a specific guide, but that is who we would recommend. One of the best guides any of us have had in many cities.

We must never allow this to happen again! - Our guide was incredibly learned about The history of Amsterdam during WWII, during the holocaust. Although it was a horrendous time it was important to understand what the jewish population suffered. Never again!

We did not get the essence of what this tour could have been. - The Tour Guide took the group to specific locations and explained them in a didactic way. We got the impression that he really didn't want to be there. He seemed immature. His remarks often times came across as sarcastic and "snarky". He did not make an effort to convey with empathy and feeling what Jews in Amsterdam must've gone through during World War II. And he didn't appear to care what people in the group felt about the experience. At the end of the tour, he made a sarcastic remark something like, "I don't care what you people say about me because I'll never see you again." Perhaps he meant that as a joke; however, when considering our experience with the tour, it didn't seem like a joke. We've had wonderful experiences with Viator Tours in the past. We hope this tour was an aberration.
