The National Maritime Museum boasts one of the world’s most extensive and impressive maritime collections, with roughly 400,000 items. These include artwork, ship models, world maps, and navigation tools.
The Maritime Museum ticket you purchased includes a predefined timeslot, chosen when you booked. Admittance is strictly limited to this specifically chosen timeslot and cannot be altered. Contrarily, the City Canal Cruise does not assign a timeslot and is an ‘OPEN TICKET.’ You have the freedom to embark on the next open boat at either of the two Blue Boat Company docks.
Your voucher should be scanned at the Maritime Museum. The canal cruise ticket can be redeemed at the Blue Boat Company’s ticket office, where you’ll be allocated a timeslot.

- Your ticket for Maritime Museum is a ticket with a timeslot you chose while making a reservation. You can ONLY enter the museum at this specific time. Changing your slottime is NOT possible. The address of the Maritime Museum is Kattenburgerplein , 1018 KK Amsterdam
- The ticket for your City Canal Cruise is an so called “OPEN TICKET”. This means that no timeslot has been allocated and you can board any next available boat at one of the 2 docks:
- The first dock is located at Stadhouderskade 501 opposite the Hard Rock Cafe. Take tram 1, 2, 5,11 and 12 stop at Leidseplein. from there the dock is a 2 minute walk.
- The second dock is located at Stadhouderskade 550, opposite Heineken Experience. Take tram 2, 5,and 12 stop at Rijksmuseum. from there the dock is a 5 minute walk or take metro No. 52 and stop at Vijzelgracht. From there the dock is only a 2 minute walk.
- Last City Canal Cruise from Hard Rock Cafe departs at 18:00.
- Last City Canal Cruise from Heineken Experience departs at 17:15.
- You can cancel your ticket until 24 hours prior to departure. Cancellation within 24 hours is not possible.
- Please note that that Blue Boat Company is closed on the following dates: • 27th April: Kingsday • 5th August: Pride & Queer Canal Parade • 25th December: Christmas • 31st December; no cruises after 4:00PM • 1st January; until noon.
