Surprising gem in Amsterdam - We had the privilege of visiting this wonderful museum on Sept. 1. It was probably the most enjoyable experience we had on our visit to Amsterdam. I was astounded by the details of the exhibits and learned so much history. The INCLUDED audio tour was excellent, giving us all the time we wanted in each room before moving on to the next. The museum is easily accessible by tram, and is located in a lovely residential neighborhood away from the central bustle of the city. We also were able to enjoy a leisurely walk from there to our next goal, the Rijksmuseum.

The canals project - City Canal Museum: small, but well-maintained and interactive. Friendly staff. I can not say how much the ticket cost as it was free with the museum card.

Museum providing history of Amsterdam - Good starting point to understand the history of Amsterdam and how the city came to be. Audio tour with listening devices provided. Nice little garden in the back. Thought the price of admission though was a little steep.

Learn how Amsterdam planned its growth - Interesting history of the growth of the city and building of the canals. Also provides a good opportunity to look around a building and gardens on one of the canals.
