Very personable and knowledgeable tour - Selma was our guide and she was terrific. An Art History student, she shared her expertise and was very personable and engaging. No rush, caring, and helpful. Recommended!

Wonderful Experience w/Selma! - Selma was fantastic! She was very personable and helped depict each story the painting portrays. Both of my kids loved hearing about it all. If you are able to get her as your guide, you will not be disappointed.

Eyes opened for old masters - The tour was great! Our guide Thalia brought the old masters to life for us in a super friendly way. We saw and discovered a lot of things that we would never have noticed without her tips (light and shadow, political background of the works, development of painting techniques). Afterwards we explored other parts of the museum on our own thanks to Thalia's tips. Clearly recommended!!!

Beautiful museum - We weren’t given good instructions on where to meet our guide. This is a third party service so directions said the guide would be holding a sign but she wasn’t. It’s definitely a great way to get in if the museum tickets are sold out for the day and our guide was very knowledgeable about the art that she showed us. It was a short guided service on the second floor only. After that you could tour the rest of the museum on your own. It wasn’t very expensive for the guide so it didn’t surprise me that it was a short tour with her. Overall, it was worth the extra money

A no show for our tour! - We were advised by Guides Amsterdam to be at the meeting place beside the entrance to Rijksmuseum 15 minutes early for our private tour. No one showed up for the tour and we waited 33 minutes for them. When we called the contact number, no one answered. We left a message and no one ever called back. We received no calls, texts or emails from them concerning this issue until the next day. This is unacceptable and has never happened before to us with a Viator tour. We heard nothing about a refund either.

Unpleasant Museum Visit - I recently had an unfortunate experience during my visit to Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The Viator staff significantly impacted our visit in a negative way. Initially, they lied about the scheduled appointment, causing confusion and inconvenience. They told us that the museum would be closed on the fixed day so we had to reschedule for the following day. This turned up to be inaccurate as I checked with museum staff when I visited and they were just lying. Moreover, we have booked for a private tour, and when we arrived (the following day on our rescheduled appointment) at our meeting point, they told us that our guide was sick and they had to cancel without any prior notification. After negotiating they accepted to take us in with a bigger group. I need to mention that we were a group of 8, 4 adults with 4 kids. The tour guide assigned to us lacked both helpfulness and knowledge, making the experience less engaging than anticipated. No headphones, no inside knowledge. The overall atmosphere was marred by a lack of professionalism and organizational integrity. I hope Viator takes these issues seriously, as they significantly affected my impression and enjoyment of what should have been a culturally enriching visit.
