Great Day Trip! - Really insightful tour :) Diego was a great guide and gave us a lot of information and we got to see a lot in one day which would not be possible without a vehicle. Our favourite parts were tasting the different cheeses and visiting the shops in Volendam!

Great tour for a reasonable price - Had plenty of time to visit all villages, with the exception of Zaanse Schans as it was crowded. Some of the shops at Zaanse Schaans had a lot of customers, so it took longer to shop and check out. Plus if want to walk to the end of the windmills, it took 10 minutes one way plus extra time to take pics. The cheese tasting in Edam is pretty much the same as the cheese shops in Amsterdam in terms of the cheese available for sampling. Loved walking through the villages which were all very pretty. It's a nice break from the bustling Amsterdam. Volendam, the lunch spot was my favorite. Plenty of places to eat, nice walk along the waters, and plenty of shops to browse. Marion (?), the guide gave some background information about each of the villages. Overall, I had a great time. Highly recommend this tour. Visiting 4 villages in 8hrs for $40 is a reasonable price. The only complaint is finding the meeting spot. I had to ask 2 people where the meeting spot is. You have to walk to the other side of the Central Train station, go out, turn right and walk along the waters for about 5 minutes.

A quick little history lesson with a view of the countryside! - We enjoyed the narration between stops, had snippets of history throughout the tour. There could have been an announcement to skip the cheese place at the windmills, since we would be hitting that same cheese place on the next stop-but double the cheese samples wasn’t a bad thing. Definitely enjoyed the old towns, but it was too touristy, all of the shops were the same, maybe working in an area with cute little local shops that weren’t all offering the same things. But overall a good value for the price.

Lots of walking, rushed, cramped - Far too much walking... the description did not mention walking at all. Bus was cramped. Guide's English was not great. Bus was full, so it took a long time to get everyone off the bus, collect them together, etc. So everything was rushed. Clog-making demo was largely worthless. The operator put wood in a machine, ran it for 2 minutes, put it in another machine for a minute. The only interesting part was finally shaping heel and toe.

Good Sites - tour group too big - The tour group was 60 people - too big, too slow. Too much compressed into this tour without enough time in various locations. The windmills - not enough time. Edam - would have been nice to buy cheese from there. Cheese Farm Gouda - too many people in the small entrance to hear the overview and too many people in the store. An accident occurred where someone tripped and was injured. Too big of a group to easily keep together. Wybe the tour guide was informative and enthusiastic. However, the group was too big to manage. A very friendly bus driver as well. I wouldn’t recommend this tour.
