- Zaanse Schans - Arrive at The Zaanse Schans, a unique preserved village where people live and work, featuring museums, windmills, a cheese farm, shops, and traditional crafts. This site offers an excellent glimpse into the Zaanstreek of the 18th and 19th centuries. Walking among the traditional timber houses and windmills, you’ll feel transported to a bygone era. We will stroll along the dike next to the river Zaan and admire the sight of multiple industrial windmills. We’ll visit a working windmill that still produces goods. Having grown up in a windmill, we can share extensive knowledge about them!

Your host will explain the basic rules of clog painting. Enjoy a drink, Dutch cookies, and candies while letting your creativity flow! A special quick-drying paint is used, so you can take your wooden shoe home after the tour.
