Day tour to Kazbegi from Tbilisi - We were traveling to Georgia with friends and decided to see Kazbegi mountains. First to mention that the nature along the way and in mountains was just lovely and fascinating, and we with friends decided to come back in future for paragliding and rafting. The private tour was just perfect with excellent guide who was providing all the information on the sights, on the Georgian history and traditions, giving tips on the travel, and stopping by and accompanying us to all the places we wished along the way. Definitely much better that the public tour and highly advised!

Excellent! - We booked this trip to see Georgian mountain views. Oh'boy what landscape we saw! Breathtaking! Our guide Omar had a great deal of knowledge about history, every day life, linguistics, music and more. It's pure madness to rent a car and to do a road trip by yourself. Roads and traffic is crazy and you will need experienced driver like these guys are. We have traveled a lot and seen many places and still this was one of the best. We had an amazing day. Highly recommended.

Fantastic tour - Our guide was very knowledgeable and truly loved his country. He told us a lot about history, geography, customs and cuisine. One additional thing that could be useful, would be a contact email address. We had a phone number provided by viator but I figure due to the time difference contact prior to the arrival in Tbilisi was not easy. Overall a great experience. We highly recommend the trip!

A REALLY GREAT DAY OUT - This is a thoroughly enjoyable day out from Tbilisi. Driver and guide Omar is proud of his country and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Georgia’s history, achievements and contributions to Caucasian civilisation. So, between the historic sights and areas of great scenic appeal, he offered illuminating conversation on various aspects of Georgian customs and society, the Georgian Orthodox faith, the social and economic impacts of regaining national sovereignty after the collapse of the former USSR - and just about any other topic you’d care to engage in. I now rate Georgia a chance against Australia in the next Rugby World Championship! The visit to Gergeti monastery is definitely the cherry on the top of the cake. The natural setting is truly awe-inspiring; the monastery, a serene, majestic testimony to the devotion of the resident monks and indeed a reverential Georgian populace. Getting through the last few kilometres is a challenge if you’re not a well-conditioned walker or a bit pushed for time. Omar was able to call at short notice upon his relationship with a local family of expert 4WD drivers to get us through snowbanks, soil-slides and a collapsing (though brand new) bitumen road up to the monastery, and back. The last was not so easy when confronting a load of amateur enthusiasts and inept local opportunists pushing upward against conditions they really couldn’t manage. This little triumph really complemented Omar’s calm helmsmanship along the whole of a not very user-friendly Military Road, especially from Gudauri to the monastery and back. I could go on, but enough already. Do this tour. With these guys.

Kazbegi Day Trip - We’ve been on a few trips in Georgia now but never been as impressed as with Omar, he knows everything! Unbelievable knowledge of Georgia, so much so that we want to come back to Georgia for more tours with Omar, wine tour, food tour, 4 day tour of the west of Georgia instead of spending hours looking at other tours just book Omar and you won’t be disappointed. Also he is a very safe driver with good vehicles. The tour can be flexible which is also great as we wanted to eat at the Rooms hotel in Kazbegi which Omar recommended Chkmeruli (crispy skinned juicy local chicken in a creamy garlic sauce) - awesome! Till next time Omar!

Worst tour I’ve had - We took this trip with Goga, who was inconsiderate at best and clearly did not want to be a guide on this tour at worst. From the start of the trip, he was constantly smoking in the car and taking calls at every stop, only offering information about sites when asked. Moreover, halfway to Kazbegi, he told us that he could not reach the Gergeti church (the destination of the trip, based on the listing description) in his car because rains the week before made the road to Gergeti impossible. Instead, we would need to pay for a cab with four wheel drive to take us via an off road path. We were told that this happens frequently but he only found out about it that morning. We felt that he was not transparent with us at the start of the trip, and there should be a disclaimer on the listing description to expect to pay an additional 60-100 GEL to reach the final stop—which, again, should’ve been included in the cost already. Perhaps he was not at his best that day, but Goga should’ve found a substitute or canceled the trip since it was clear he did not want to be there. I wanted to give this trip 1 star, but gave it 2 because we did make all our stops (after paying an additional 70 GEL) and the views were beautiful.
