The Ultimate Food Tour in Anchorage!

We start our journey in the modern day and gradually step back into the late 19th century, discovering the rich history of the state fondly known as the Land of the Midnight Sun through anecdotes of the people who resided here.

Embark on a culinary journey through the heart of Anchorage downtown with us and get absorbed in the unique culture and flavors this city has to offer.

Our knowledgeable guide is here to take you through a gastronomic exploration of Alaska’s most culturally-diverse city.

As we saunter through, our guide will regale you with fascinating tales about life in this magnificent expanse.

Often referred to as ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, we are virtually a million miles away from Washington, the closest US state, making the awe-inspiring landscapes and rare wildlife a truly unique spectacle found nowhere else in the country.

Given these facts, it isn’t entirely surprising that Alaskan food culture radiates a unique charm by itself.

  • *This tour requires moving on your own or with assistance (wheelchair) for 15 - 20 minutes at a time. Though seating at establishments is often available, it is not guaranteed. Highly recommend touring downtown Anchorage with Chris! - Chris was very knowledgeable of Anchorage, past and present. He was very informative and entertaining as we walked the city and stopped to taste great local favorites. Chris offered numerous suggestions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during our stay and noted Alaskan favorite dishes not to be missed. Chris was easy going and made the whole experience very fun!

A great way to get to know Anchorage - Food tours are the absolute best way to try several different restaurants/foods when you’re short on time and this one did not disappoint! Shannon shared her background as an Alaskan native and was super knowledgeable about AK and its history. I would highly recommend Shannon and this tour!

Great tour, highly recommended. - One of the best walking food tours I’ve ever taken. Shannon was great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. All of the food was good. Most of it was unique or related to Alaska and the portions were generous. I highly recommend this tour.

NIce exploration of anchorage - I enjoyed this food tremendously with the best part being our guide Shannon. She offered some great stories and didn’t talk too much or too little. The food was good. The morning parfait was good but not mind blowing. The biscuits and gravy were great as was the donut. The last offering was a sampling of different fish and reindeer which was good. My only complaint was it was a little less food than I normally get with a food tour. But this might be just as well. But Shannon was great describer of local history, try to get her.

Knowledgeable history & good food - Chris did a great job relating the history of several of the buildings, sled dogs & personal history/ stories related to Alaska. All spots were great places to walk to in downtown Anchorage and tasty. The small group size was a definite plus. The number of food stops (5) and quantity/ quality of food received was a bit pricey as compared to similar tours elsewhere. A fun way to spend 3 hours.
