Beautiful experience - We took the Private VIP tour Mat-Su Valley Hatcher Pass and local wildlife tour.. They were extremely accommodating and helpful. Due to circumstances out of their control we were fearful our trip would be canceled. Jen communicated with us through the process, and not only was our tour a success we were treated to a special treat when James the owner showed up to take us on the tour. Very friendly, allowed us to experience each stop on the tour at out pace, never making us feel rushed. This is a company we would use again and trust to tell all our friends about. If you are looking for a true Alaskan adventure go with Welcome Alaska!!!!! A very special experience. Chris and Joan

Highly recommend! Great tour and guide! - We (2 couples) arrived in Anchorage via Holland America cruise line. We had 2 days in Anchorage and decided to do 2 private tours with Welcome Anchorage. So happy that we did! The first tour was the Glacier View Wildlife (reviewed under that section), and the second day was touring the Mat-Su Valley. James, the owner, was our tour guide again for the second day! And he was fantastic again! Appreciative of his expansive knowledge, flexibility, and enthusiasm! First visited the Reindeer Farm and learned some interesting facts of the reindeer/wildlife there. Then, onward through the Mat-Su Valley, with wonderful scenery on another gorgeous Alaskan day. Had a very nice lunch at Hatcher Pass Lodge, with beautiful surroundings, before heading to Hatcher Pass and Summit Lake. More spectacular views!! Had the opportunity to spend time walking around and taking lots of great photos. Highly recommend this tour! Both our days in Anchorage were highlights of our cruise because of James and Welcome Anchorage tours!

Delightful Day Exploring Beyond Anchorage - My husband and I were attending a conference in Anchorage and we had one day to ourselves to explore. Since we’ve been to the area before, we wanted to explore in a new direction. This tour was just what we were looking for, and James was the perfect tour guide. Originally we booked for the 2 of us, and then realized it was a private tour. We contacted the Welcome Anchorage Tours to ask if there was room for additional conference friends. They were very prompt with their replies, and very accommodating, so 3 friends joined us. James arrived early at our hotel for pickup. The SUV was clean and comfortable, and it was supplied with water, snacks, and umbrellas for our journey. We began with a tour of some sights of Anchorage, including public art, Earthquake Park, the airport (we are aviation enthusiasts), and the Ulu Factory. All the while we were entertained with local history and personal stories from James. We then left Anchorage and drove to the northeast, stopping for a hike in to Thunderbird Falls. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at a restaurant in Palmer, then toured the Musk Ox farm. The Mat-Su valley is really beautiful with its rolling hills, trees, and abundant green grasses. We drove up to Hatcher Pass but unfortunately we were in the clouds at the top and couldn’t see the amazing views that I know are there. On the return we stopped at Eklutna Historical Park, a place I have wanted to see for years. Overall we really enjoyed the day, and James was one of the most friendly tour guides we have ever had. We highly recommend this tour and Welcome Anchorage Tours.
