- Anchorage - Downtown Anchorage is a great place to start your local, guided exploration. Your exploration of the largest city in Alaska begins with a custom pick-up at your hotel. We share a bit of the history of Anchorage and begin your tour.
- The Ulu Factory - Historic Downtown is a must see followed by a short drive to the Alaska Railroad…
- Anchorage - Downtown Anchorage is a great place to start your local, guided exploration. Your exploration of the largest city in Alaska begins with a custom pick-up at your hotel. We share a bit of the history of Anchorage and begin your tour.
- The Ulu Factory - Historic Downtown is a must see followed by a short drive to the Alaska Railroad station Anchorage Depot where we will stop at the Ulu Factory and Ship Creek salmon stream.
- Beluga Point - Beluga point is just south of Anchorage on the Turnagain Arm. This destination features incredible Alaskan vistas and wildlife viewing. Dahl Sheep are often visible on the rocky crags of the Chugach mountains and when migrating, Beluga Whales can be seen plying through the fjord.
- Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - After Beluga Point, we stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This is your guaranteed opportunity to see bears, elk, moose and many other Alaskan animals. Your guide will share information on all the amazing animals at the Center. We have a few favorites to share!
- Byron Glacier Trail - Our final destination is the Glacier River Walk to Byron Glacier. This easy 20-25 minute walk allows you the opportunity to walk along the river water produced from the hanging Bryon Glacier and eventually walk up to view the glacier itself.
- Girdwood - After experiencing multiple unique experiences of glacier viewing, walk along the river and the Wildlife Conservation Center, we stop for an optional lunch, at our favorite locally owned spot in Girdwood, Base Camp. The food is delicious and well priced ( Have we mentioned the seafood chowder!)
- Turnagain Arm Drive - Turnagain Arm is considered one of the most scenic drives in the United States, Besides all the great places to experience- just the views and the drive itself are spectacular.

Memorable Alaska Adventure - Joining the Glacier & Wildlife Adventure Tour in Anchorage was an unforgettable and thrilling experience. Throughout the journey, we had the incredible opportunity to witness breathtaking glacier landscapes up close. The dazzling blue ice, glistening under the sunlight, created a truly mesmerizing and awe-inspiring sight.
Beyond the stunning scenery, the adventure also allowed us to observe Alaska’s amazing wildlife in their natural habitat. With the guidance of a knowledgeable tour guide, we spotted moose, and black bears. The kids were especially excited to see these majestic creatures up close, making the trip both educational and fun.
The entire tour was well-organized, from the comfortable transportation to the engaging commentary provided by the guide. Every stop along the way offered stunning views, including glacial lakes, snow-capped mountains, and lush forests, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
This Glacier & Wildlife Adventure Tour left us with wonderful memories, offering a perfect balance of adventure, education, and relaxation. It was a fantastic way to experience Alaska’s raw beauty and diverse wildlife, making it an ideal trip for families and nature enthusiasts!

Great start to our vacation! - We had an amazing experience on our Welcome Anchorage tour! Our guide was awesome, very personable and knowledgeable about the area. All of our stops were gorgeous, and we really enjoyed our time at the wildlife conservation center.
The van was very comfortable and we were grateful for the snacks and water.
The restaurant chosen for lunch, Basecamp, was very good. The seafood chowder was a highlight!
Highly recommend this tour, especially if you're new to the area!

Book this tour! - Don’t hesitate, book the tour with Welcome Anchorage!! From start to finish we enjoyed every minute.
Our guide, James was so nice and full of so much interesting information! (He didn’t spill the beans that he is the owner until he dropped us off!)
The views, the wildlife, the history of the area…it was all top notch.
The sprinter van was very nice, super comfortable, well maintained and clean. We were given a goodie bag with snacks and water for the day. We were picked up and dropped off directly from our Airbnb.
Our lunch stop in Girdwood was awesome, the food was delicious and the service was very good.
Great day and wonderful way to become acquainted with Anchorage!
