Great tour, great hosts, beautiful scenery, awesome cycling, wining and dining experience in SA.... - This wonderful holiday and tour was so enjoyable. We stayed a few extra days and explored Adelaide and surrounds, attended a Crows vs Eagles game at the Adelaide Oval, went to a performance of Symphony of the Bicycle, visited the pandas at the Adelaide Zoo and the amazing Botanic Gardens. Then we enjoyed 5 days of wonderful cycling adventures through a range of cycle trails taking us down the coast, then inland to McLaren Vale, the quaint Hahndorf, the Amy Gillett Pathway, the Adelaide Hills and then the Barossa Valley. The last day was a stunning ride all the way along the Torrens to the coast. The Merida mountain e-bicycles were superb, with plenty of battery capacity to help you along and had a good sized saddlebag for a bit of gear. The mid drive motor, brilliant hydraulic brakes and great geometry made it such a comfortable and enjoyable ride. The longest ride was around 30km which we accomplished easily. We were hosted by Daniel who is a wonderfully engaging gentleman with a passion for touring and his beautiful state, with all of the sights and experiences it had to offer. Nothing was too much trouble and Daniel really looked after us, he's got all sorts of options for mixing up the tour and catering for things like weather changes and so on. We had such a great time on this tour, the scenery, fresh air, variety of terrain, wonderful wine, the food!!! - lucky we were burning a few calories by riding each day, excellent accommodation and Daniels cheerful good humour and encyclopaedic knowledge of all things SA made it very special. On the last day we even got to meet Jack, the founder of Bike About, who was happy to tell us all about his journey in cycle tourism. This is a great tour if you like being out and about seeing different sights and enjoying new experiences each day, it was just great and it is indeed 'better by bike'. Thanks Daniel, and we hope to join a Bike About tour again soon.

Adelaide Barossa - must do - After a long time planning the tour with our group I can honestly say that every part of the tour was fantastic. Dan and Piers led us along some amazing pathways and showed us the changing colours of the landscape which was awesome to see. Accommodation provided was very comfortable and all amenities were covered. The highlights of our trip were too many to choose one from another, all were of very high standard. Bike About were very professional, very friendly and I would recommend anyone wanting to visit the Barossa Valley to do it through Bike About – you will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend this tour - Excellent guide. Biking was flat and mostly on cycle paths. Wine tasting, stops at chocolate factory and cheese shop were first class. Lunch, tasting and tour especially of the cooper’s (wine barrel maker) workshop at Yalumba were also first class. We highly recommend

Amazing bike and gourmet day in Barossa - I wanted an adventurous experience in Barossa and this bike day exceeded my expectations!! The bikes were great quality and the trip was so much fun. The bike paths made it worry free for American riders and even when we rode the short times on the road the guide was very attentive and made sure we crossed properly. The stops were fabulous (and delicious.). The vistas were breath taking as we rode through vineyards and paths. We started with the chocolate factory, visited the cheese factory with a fabulous cheese tasting and ended with a wonderful wine tasting and food board at Yalumba. What an incredible vineyard and cellar to visit. After 2 weeks in Australia I would definitely recommend this tour and rate this as one of my highlights. The guide was so much fun too.
