Algar do Carvão is currently closed for the construction of a new visitor center, with an anticipated reopening in April 2025.

Operating hours are from 14:00 to 18:00 during the summer and from 14:30 to 17:30 in the winter. From October to April, it remains closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.
