Repeat! - As a first experience at sea, it was spectacular! The boat although it seems fragile is quite safe. We couldn't spot any whales despite the captain's effort but there were dolphins everywhere. But the highlight (for me) was the fact of being at sea in that magnificent landscape and seeing the island from afar - it was an unforgettable experience. Repeated without a shadow of doubt!

exciting. - the excursion is organized very well: you arrive at 8.15 to leave at 8.30, the staff explains what we are going to look for and what we can see, everyone must wear a life jacket. Optional (nobody took it) also offer the raincoat. You go with a small fast dinghy sitting in rows of two, it's not really comfortable, but it endures well. We were out almost 3 hours. We in late July were lucky with a beautiful sunny day and calm waters. We saw a myriad of dolphins in different places and 5 whales, two of them in pairs really very closely (the dinghy is essential)! Dolphins are 100% certain, there are many groups that live permanently in the waters outside Angra do Heroismo, so you are sure to see them, while whales obviously depend on luck: the Picos de Aventura team was still very good! Experience to do (if possible Recommendation to book it in two different islands, maybe even with different companies, the important thing is to go by inflatable boat)

Amazing experience - Excellent boat tour which lasted circa 2 hours and 30 minutes. We were very lucky with the weather - nice temperature, clear skies and calm waters. During the tour we spotted sperm and pilot whales, and also saw various types of dolphins. Also, although whales are much larger animals, the dolphins interacted more with the boat by coming closer and swimming alongside. The tour agency asked us to arrive 15 minutes before for the safety briefing and getting a life vest. Recommended to take sunscreen as the boat is open and clothes that can get wet. Some participants had sports shoes while others wore flip flops. A wind breaker jacket might be useful depending on the weather and the agency had some available for free.

In the middle of the blue - The experience is so worth it. I went at 8:30 and saw sperm whales and dolphins. The boat is small but I didn't feel unsafe at any time. The people are very friendly.

Great experience! - Unfortunately we didn't see any whales but we had a great time watching the dolphins! The team took us to different places to try to see as much as possible and it was great. They also give us a lot of information on the species that we can observe (and in several languages). We highly recommend!

Sea outside!! - We really enjoyed the tour, the common and bottlenose dolphins showed up, the sperm whales missed the roll call… We'll try again.

No whales, just dolphins - The staff is friendly. Our boat left 30 minutes late because the morning tour took longer whale watching. Our guide worked very hard communicating with the hilltop whale watcher to try and find us whales. We had no luck on our July 16 11:30 am four. We were told it’s better to go in the morning. We did see many dolphins. It is a 45 minute ride out with bumps along the way. If you are prone to sea sickness-DO NOT GO:). If you are large, it will be difficult to fit in the seats. You are straddled on a seat like riding a horse for the 3 hours. There is a restroom by the office to use before you depart. We brought a small backpack on board with snacks and water. They give you a raincoat to wear. We got slashed just a little bit. Overall, it was fun.
