Highlights

Arrival to Kathmandu

Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal - Our airport representative from Adventure Glacier Treks will greet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to a hotel, where a briefing will be held regarding the necessary procedures, the trekking route, and your trekking permits. Depending on your arrival time, you can either visit nearby temples or take a rest during your free time.

Drive to Pokhara

Pokhara Lakeside - Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus. Typically, these buses depart at 7:00 a.m. from Kathmandu and the journey takes 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions. Upon arrival at the hotel, you can rest, take a walk around the lakeside, or paddle on the lake. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Drive to Naya pool and about 3 hrs trekking (1065m, 3494ft)

Tikhedhunga - After breakfast, we will leave Pokhara in a private vehicle. The road winds through scenic countryside for about 2 hours until we reach the hiking trail at Nayapul, where the Modi River and Burundi River converge. We will follow the Burundi River upstream for about 3 hours to reach Tikhedhunga, a charming village with guesthouses where we will spend the night.

Climb up to Ghorepani about 5 hours trekking (2860m, 9383ft)

Ghorepani - After breakfast, we will start the day by climbing uphill to the village of Ulleri, which involves ascending about 3,000 stone steps over 2 hours. From Ulleri, the trail gradually climbs through the forest for another 3 hours to reach Ghorepani at 2,855m. Ghorepani is a pass overlooking the deep valley of Kali Gandaki, situated between the peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Overnight stay at a trekking lodge.

Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani 7 hours (3210m, 10531ft), (2630m, 8628ft)

Poon Hill - Poon Hill is one of the best viewing spots in the Annapurna region. We will walk for about 50 minutes to Poon Hill at 3,200m to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas. Around 15 different peaks can be seen, including Dhaulagiri I (8,167m / 7th highest), Annapurna I (8,091m / 10th highest), and Manaslu (8,156m / 8th highest). After breakfast, we will trek to our next destination, Tadapani.

Trek to Chhomrong about 6 hours trekking (2170m, 7119ft)

Chhomrong - From Tadapani, we will descend about 900 meters to the Gurjung River valley and then gradually climb along the ridge to Chhomrong, located high on the ridge. Chhomrong is a large Gurung village in the Annapurna Sanctuary corridor, offering close-up views of Annapurna South (7,219m), Huuchuli, and Fishtail (6,993m).

Trek to Dovan trekking about 5 hours (2600m, 8530ft)

Dovan - We will trek down to Chhomrong Khola (river) and then ascend to Sinwa for about 3 hours. From here, we enter a steep valley towards Annapurna Sanctuary at the foothills of Annapurna South and Fishtail. From Sinwa, we will trek down to the Modi River at the small village of ‘Bamboo’ for 2 hours, then ascend for another hour to Dovan (2400m).

Day 8 Trekking to Deurali for about 6 hours (3230m, 10597ft)

Deurali - Above Dovan, we enter an area where the effects of altitude are felt. We will ascend slowly to another Himalayan hamlet in 2 hours. The trail is peaceful, with lush green forests and waterfalls. After the Himalayas (2,900m), we will move forward to the rocky terrain steeply for an hour to reach Hinku Cave. Deurali is across the arduous moorland, blocked by streams with deposited ice. The remoteness of the Himalayas makes you feel refreshed and clear-minded.

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp takes about 4 hours (4130m, 13549ft)

Annapurna Base Camp Trek - The trail from Deurali to Fishtail Base Camp is prone to avalanches, so we will change the route across the Modi River depending on the situation and season. It takes about 2 hours to reach Fishtail Base Camp at an altitude of 3,700m. At Fishtail Base Camp, the valley opens wide with beautiful snow-capped peaks. The trail to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m / 13550ft) gradually climbs up the snowfield and the edge of the glacier. At base camp, we are surrounded 360 degrees by some of the tallest mountains in the world.

Trek back down to Dovan takes about 7 hours (2600m, 8530ft)

Dovan - After witnessing the magnificent sunrise over the Annapurnas, we will hike back towards Dovan. The first part of the trail is steep, then it becomes a gradual downhill. Dovan is a river junction of two streams.

Trek back to Sinuwa takes about 6 hours (2170m, 7119ft)

Trek to Jhinu and Drive back to Pokhara

Pokhara - Trek for about 2 hours to Jhinu, where there is a natural hot spring. Spend some time bathing in the hot spring, have lunch there, and then drive back to Pokhara.
