• Cheaha State Park - Experience the splendor of Alabama’s highest point on a sky island! Cheaha Resort State Park, situated at the southern end of the Appalachian mountain chain, is Alabama’s oldest park (est. 1933) and is regarded as one of the nation’s most distinctive parks. Envision 2,799 acres of granite boulders and ancient, wind-shaped trees at 2,407 feet above sea level, often above the clouds, surrounded by 392,567 acres of the Talladega National Forest, including 7,245 acres of Cheaha Wilderness.
• Anniston Museum of Natural History - Located in Lagarde Park, Anniston, Alabama, the Anniston Museum of Natural History showcases over 2,000 natural history items on permanent display. • Mustang Museum of America - The only Mustang museum in the United States, featuring over 100 Mustangs on display. It includes all generations from 1964-1/2 to 2015 (first 50 years) and the largest collection of SSP Mustangs used by Highway Patrol in 32 states and other government agencies. Located in Odenville, Alabama, approximately 20 miles northeast of Birmingham. Open Friday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with additional times available by appointment.
