This pass gives you access to the outstandingly significant historical site, Sagalossos. You’ll be able to explore remarkable edifices from as far back as 2000 years ago. Sagalassos is situated 7 km north of Ağlasun district and perched at an altitude of 1700 meters on Akdağ’s slopes. During Roman imperial times, it was the Pisidia region’s most crucial city. The majority of its structures originate from the Roman period. In 1706, French explorer Paul Lucas first discovered Sagalossos. On entering the city in the skies, you’ll see residences, lime and metal kilns, and baths below an agora (marketplace), an odeon, and a fountain. As you venture northward, you’ll notice living quarters above, a theater to starboard, a neon library, a Hellenistic fountain, a pottery manufacturing hub, a second agora in the city’s heart, a parliament building, a church, a heroon, a temple, and the Cladius gate in the top left corner. The Sagalassians were of the Pisidia tribe, a subset of Luwian tribes dwelling in Western and Southern.
