Embark on an Antigua scenic tour and discover the breathtaking Devil’s Bridge, historic Shirley Heights, Nelson Dockyard, and more. Enjoy a beach break on the stunning West Coast!
- Devil’s Bridge - The Devil’s Bridge is a stunning example of sea-water erosion. Geologically, it is a natural arch sculpted by the sea from both soft and hard limestone ledges of the Antigua formation, a geological feature of the flat northeastern part of Antigua.
- Dow’s Hill Interpretation Centre - This center features multimedia exhibits on the island’s history, from its indigenous inhabitants to British colonialism and the present day. The view from Dow’s Hill offers a commanding perspective of English Harbour and the island’s southern coastline.
- The Blockhouse - Situated hundreds of feet above sea level, this spot provides an excellent vantage point to view the rest of the island. In one direction, you can see Indian Creek, once home to Antigua’s first peoples. Turn around, and you’ll catch a glimpse of the luxurious Antiguan residence of musician Eric Clapton. Fantastic photo opportunities await you here!
- Shirley Heights - Located at the southernmost tip of Antigua, The Lookout, part of the Shirley Heights Lookout military complex, offers a breathtaking view over the entirety of English Harbour. Dating back to the 17th century, this historical site is believed to have been constructed by the British military, who controlled Antigua at the time. A perfect spot for photos!
- Nelson’s Dockyard - Nelson’s Dockyard is the largest of Antigua’s National Parks and continues to function as a working dockyard for numerous yachts and ships. Fully restored to its original grandeur, the 18th- and 19th-century buildings of the Dockyard now house modern amenities such as shops, hotels, and marina businesses.
- Fig Tree Drive - Fig Tree Drive winds through a lush area of Antigua, passing rainforests and massive banana trees (referred to as figs by locals). Roadside vendors sell local fruits, so be sure to stop and ask for some mango or black pineapple. Along the way, you will also pass by ziplines and a few beaches at the end!
- Darkwood Beach - Darkwood boasts some of the most vibrant seas and white beaches on the island, set against a backdrop of hills and tropical forests. The views are both panoramic and spectacular, and on a clear day, you can see Montserrat. As one of the longest stretches of beach, there is ample space to enjoy the scenery. With warm, inviting waters lapping against pristine sands, there are plenty of reasons to visit!
