Antigua - We will pick up our travelers from their hotel or chosen address starting at 9 am.
Jocotenango - We will stop here to provide food for the tour, 2 liters of pure water, a jacket (not waterproof), gloves, and a hat. You can also pay the entrance fee to the Volcano here to avoid waiting in line at the top….
Antigua - Acatenango Volcano
Antigua - We will pick up our travelers from their hotel or chosen address starting at 9 am.
Jocotenango - We will stop here to provide food for the tour, 2 liters of pure water, a jacket (not waterproof), gloves, and a hat. You can also pay the entrance fee to the Volcano here to avoid waiting in line at the top. Additionally, you can rent backpacks, flashlights, and climbing sticks, and pay for the extra tour to the Fuego volcano, which costs Q200 quetzales.
Acatenango Volcano - We will arrive at the town of La Soledad to meet the guides who will accompany you on the tour. We will get here around 11:15 am - 11:30 am. After providing the group’s name and some information from the guide, we will start the hike to the base camp, which will take 4.5 to 6 hours depending on the group’s pace.
We will reach the base camp between 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm, depending on the group’s pace. Here, the guide will settle you into the domes where you can leave your belongings and relax. The hike to the Fuego Volcano starts here and is entirely optional. It is a 1 hour and fifteen-minute round trip and costs an additional Q200 quetzales. You will get within 300 meters of the crater to witness the majestic eruptions, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Those who do not take the tour can watch the eruptions from the camp.
Acatenango Volcano - Antigua
Acatenango Volcano - The second day starts at 4 am with a climb to the summit of the Acatenango Volcano to watch the sunrise. Those who prefer not to climb can stay at the camp. The guide will prepare breakfast between 6 am to 7 am, and then we will begin descending to the starting point of the hike from the previous day. The bus will be waiting to take you back to Antigua Guatemala.
