Casa del Jade, is located inside a Colonial house, called "El Jaulon", a two story yellow building at the corner of 4th street and 3rd avenue. Only 1 block away from the Main Square.

Amazing experience - Definitely an amazing time! Carmenita was very helpful and patient. She helped me shape and polish my chosen stone to perfection! Truly a unique experience
I bought some of her work also as gifts for family. As well as something from the main shop.
Would highly recommend this workshop!

Antigua - She was so sweet! And so helpful! It was so much fun to do and I would definitely recommend to everyone I had long nails and I’m clumsy and it was still doable for me!!

Jade experience - Wow ! What’s an amazing and super fun activity. Carmelita was so knowledgeable of the craft and made this experience extra memorable. We got lesson on jade and got to make an piece for ourselves to take home !

Jamming with Jade - Carmen’s expertise and enthusiasm shine in our jade-carving experience. My partner and I loved the opportunity to explore the museum, learn about the incredible (truly confounding) abilities of Mayans to carve jade in ways we can’t replicate today and to have our hand at practicing some of the art ourselves.

Fun activity with friends - A nice way to spend a couple of hours in Antigua. There is a little tour/explanation of the history of jade, along with their exhibits in the little museum. The staff was helpful and friendly. We all came away with a wearable piece of jade jewelry. Will definitely return!

A Must Do! - We LOVED our jade jewelry class! Carmencita was an incredible teacher and throughly explained all the steps and helped us along the way. She is also hilarious and we loved spending a few hours with her. Our necklaces turned out stunningly beautiful and we couldn't be happier.

Black jade necklace - This experience was so great and worth every dollar! I made a black jade necklace and have worn it every day since I've had it. Upon arrival you get a tour of the building and see the staff carve jade pieces in real time, as well as see the unique jewelry in the shop that you can buy. You're given a brief history of jade, and then after that you're guided to the work room where you and the rest of the group can select the type of jade you want and select the shape. It's a pretty hands on activity but there are people to help you along the way. Shoutout out to Mario, Carmen and another gentleman (I forgot his name) whose family has been carving jade for generations; they were all very helpful!

Carve a jade pendant - I did the jade carving workshop and it was so much fun! You get to choose the colour of jade you want and the shape of the stone. Then Cesar helps you cut the stone, shape it and, polish it.
Cesar is an excellent teacher and craftsman! He explains and shows what you need to do and lets you work yourself. But he is there to help and makes sure you leave with a perfect piece!
