Casa del Jade, is located inside a Colonial house, called "El Jaulon", a two story yellow building at the corner of 4th street and 3rd avenue. Only 1 block away from the Main Square.

Fantastic jade experience - Today I carved and polished a jade stone for a bracelet with Carmencita. It was very enjoyable and relaxing and a great way to spend two hours. You get to choose your own piece of jade to work on and there were a variety of designs. I thoroughly recommend it.

Amazing experience of working your own piece of jade - Very nice experience, you learn a lot about jade and how to work it. There is a lot of variety of jade and many different colors. You choose the color and shape and then you start cutting and shaping it. Then the glitter and everything. Very friendly and patient Professors Carmencita and Elmer

Amazing time at Casa del Jade - We had an amazing time at Casa del Jade. We all got to make our own jade necklaces. If you need help, they help you. The experience was really fun, our kids loved it.

Definitely fun - and you go home with something you made! - Three adults and four teens did this activity... and we all agreed that it was excellent and best of all, we each made something that we are proud of, that looks good, and we are wearing (or gave to someone who is wearing it.)... better than any "purchased" memory. The people who worked there were kind, clear, spoke English well - and most of all, were super helpful. At first it seemed like it would be a short activity - but they were right, it was almost two hours. Who knew they'd help us polish our pieces so finely! I'd recommend this for both adults and families with teenage kids.

you have to do this! Super unique ! - A unique must experience (I was with the amazing Carmencita and Elmer). The tour guide starts with a really solid overview of Jade how it was used, where it is found and how it is shaped today. Then the fun starts with a hands on workshop led by Elmer and Carmencita. Making my own piece is a highlight of this trip.

Must Do! - How often can you cut, carve, and polish your own necklace pendant from scratch? The staff is very knowledgeable and patient as they teach you how to handle the jade with the machinery. When I return to Antigua, I will definitely do this workshop again!

Fun with power tools and jade - My daughters and I had a great time creating our own jade pendants. From choosing the stone and shape. To cutting with the saw and grinding, we had a great time and now have a nice souvenir. Took a bit of time and effort but was worth it. I know have a whole new appreciation for jewelers!
