Worthwhile. - Since this was my first time hiking alone I was very skeptical. Being so I emailed them about my concerns and within hours they kindly respond to every question I asked. With great detail from what you should bring with you, where they pick you up how the hike is and so fourth. I was very pleased. The hike itself is grueling but very worth it if you have the heart. I recommend you do all that is available and really take it all in bc the next thing you know you're back home on your computer writing a review about your experience.

Great experience! - Rogelio was my guide, a great person by the way, very helpful all the time, such a nice and patient guy. The driver from Antigua was very nice as well, sorry I don’t remember his name but he was with his 8 year old son, maybe you’ll be able to know his name. A special thanks to Rogelio!

An great time - The trip was overall amazing I honestly don’t have any complaints. I found the guides were very kind and caring and always watched out for people, making sure that no one was left behind. The hike is very difficult but the guides were very attentive to our needs and made regular stops to let us catch our breath. They were also very encouraging which helped since it was often quiet hard. The food was good but I would recommend packing yourself some extra fresh fruits and snacks. I didn’t train or go to the gym before the trip but was still able to hike fuego and summit acatenango so really don’t be afraid to do it. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend booking with this company!!

Grueling Yet Unforgettable - I chose this activity for my birthday celebration and I had a blast! Before the hike, GuatExperience Tours staff was helpful in answering my questions. At the Antigua office, they provide headlamps and trekking poles for rental. There is a bathroom for use here before the hour-long drive to the company’s second office near the trailhead. At the second office, there is a bathroom, but you have to pay to use it. Here they provide hats, gloves, sweatshirts, and coats at no cost. You will need them for the top where the wind is relentlessly cold. I recommend leaving extra room in your backpack for an oversized, bulky sweatshirt. Also, ensure that you have brought at least 4 liters of water and extra quetzales to buy more water, electrolytes, and snacks (as needed) at a few of the rest spots. Some of them have bathrooms, but you will need your own toilet paper. The provided lunch was a hearty sandwich. The hike itself is no joke for those that are not used to that elevation. Fortunately, our trail guide Osbin was patient and straightforward about the time we needed to make it to base camp in order to hike El Fuego in the evening. Prepare for at least four hours of constant uphill hiking before getting to your base camp. It is rustic and provides ample bedding. Don’t forget a pillow though! The second hike to El Fuego is a must! Also uphill though slowly paced due to the sheer number of hikers on the trail. The sunset view is incredible and once the volcano starts erupting (quite often), it’s hard to look away. Once we got back down, Osbin prepared a fire and a vegetable sauce to go with the noodles for dinner. The next day, you have the option of waking up at 3:30am to do a third hike to see the sunrise. Afterwards, a banana bread breakfast was provided and we left at base camp around 7:45am. Going down the mountain can be quite slippery at some spots. Osbin ensured that we all stayed together so no one was left behind. Overall, I highly recommend this activity and Osbin as the tour guide.

Great experince - On of the The best experiences of my life. It is hard to climb but it worths. Our guide Minor was a great guy with his team. They carried all the meal to the base camp! Always supported us. Even carried one of the guests during the trail to help her while she was suffering. Highly appreciate it!

Acatenango - 4/5 - incredible experience at the top of Acatenango! Willy the guide is a legend, super helpful for all the stuff during the hike and at the base camp! A couple things to notice: - Tour was mentioned to be in English - Willy only speaks Spanish but you’ll manage to be understood - Lack of information on some key aspects. Payed 75€ but DOES NOT include the night tour at Fuego. Trip Advisor did not mentioned this and it is an extra 200 Quetzales (24€) to hike the Fuego. Also make sure to bring enough water (4l at leaf) bcs the guide uses over a liter to cook diner and breakfast. TripAdvisor’s automatic message was poorly written and many people were surprised by this lack of info. Overall, great expedition but please make sure to be informed on the difficulty of the hike, the prices, and what to bring on the hike.

Good company difficult hike great experience - this is run through brothers expedition. Overall it was a good experience. The hike itself is extremely challenging physically and so i would be prepared for that. We had 4 guides for a 20 person group which was good. On the way up they were very helpful and great. On the way down they were not as present but the group did get spread out a lot more. It is optional to do the volcan de fuego part as well as the morning hike and a guide stays at base camp with those that dont want to go. The food is basic and i would highly recommend bringing lots of snacks with. The biggest issue was language barrier. None of the guide spoke english so it was a little hard communicating but as a group with some strong/native Spanish speakers i was able to get by.

The tour was well... - The tour was well organized and the camp was just fine (low standard), we had cacao, coffee and pasta in the evening. The Organisation was not Guat Experience as we expected, it was the Brother‘s Expedition. We had a good communication beforehand via the app viator. They told us what to bring (i.e. sweets, toilet paper, water) and what is included (i.e. warm jackets, hat, gloves, a backpack could be rent for 7$). We booked an english guide but he only spoke spanish. He was pretty kind and funny but he didn‘t give any further information or facts about the volcano.

Extremely Disappointing and Misleading Experience - I booked this volcano tour through TripAdvisor, expecting a professional and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations and left me feeling disappointed and misled. Firstly, the tour was supposed to be conducted in English, as stated when I booked. However, it was not in English, which caused significant difficulties in understanding the guide and the tour itself. Secondly, the tour was organized by a different company than what was listed on my ticket. What’s more, I discovered that other participants on the same tour had paid €17 less than I did for their tickets, which felt unfair. On top of that, there were additional hidden charges during the trip that were not disclosed beforehand. These fees were also four times higher than what similar tours typically charge for the same services. To make matters worse, there was only one guide for the entire group, and this guide was a 17-year-old who lacked the professionalism and experience necessary for such a role. The guide failed to follow the schedule or deliver the activities as promised, leaving the group frustrated and confused. This tour felt like a scam. I would not recommend it to anyone, and I strongly urge the organizers to address these issues to ensure no one else has such a disappointing experience.

Bad tour guides, misleading trip description - First off, the actual hike itself with the views of the volcanos is fantastic. However, I would strongly recommend against going with THIS company specifically. The tour guides did not speak any English (even though I selected preference for an English-speaking guide), they never communicated with the group what plans were for the day, they had no response to the freezing cold night that we had to spend in the rain (surely a fire could have been built), and both tour guides tried their hardest to rush all of the hiking group members to get to our destination as fast as possible––ignoring physical ability and safety. Overall, I was very disappointed with this tour experience, even if the natural landscape itself was absolutely amazing.
