The hike to Pacaya’s summit spans 2-3 hours and is sufficiently gentle for beginners yet offers enough of a challenge to serve as a physical exercise.
The trail’s atmosphere is characterized by the moist climate of the neighboring volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. The volcano’s accessibility ensures that even those not in peak physical condition can enjoy the climb.
