- San Vicente Pacaya - Support the Rescue Horses of Guatemala! Arrive at the foot of Pacaya Volcano where a horse and private cowboy will be waiting for you. Enjoy a 45-minute ride to the base of Pacaya, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of three volcanoes. Our unique lava chef will prepare a luxury picnic on the lava rock, complete with colorful pillows and blankets. Wine (available for purchase), homemade salsa with chips, and pizza cooked on the hot lava will be served. Finish the experience by roasting marshmallows in the lava. This ride supports the Pacaya horses and working horses in Guatemala. Each horse you rent helps feed a horse and a family for a week, including medicines and tack. Follow Soul Shine Horse Rescue on Facebook.
Booking MUST be for 2 people or more, 24 hours in advance. If booking within 24 hours, please message us to see if we can accommodate you. During the rainy season, tours start at 8:30 am to ensure the best views. If you are a single booking, let us know and we can add you to a group.

Private transfer from Antigua to Pacaya Volcano. Upon arrival, your horse, adorned in vibrant Guatemalan colors, will be ready for you. Each horse comes with its own cowboy guide to ensure your safety throughout the journey. Travel over lava rock to reach breathtaking views of three other volcanoes at the foot of Pacaya. Here, a personal chef will be waiting to help you roast marshmallows over open lava pockets and prepare a pizza to be baked on the hot lava coals. Revel in this luxurious affair with your host setting up an al fresco Mayan-style meal complete with colorful cushions, blankets, and wine service. If the sunset tour is running (dependent on the season), we stay till nightfall allowing you to witness the spectacle of glowing lava flows. Your cowboy guide will then safely lead you back in the evening, to your vehicle for the return journey to Antigua.
