• Mulifanua - This is where you will hop on the inter-island ferry to Savaii. Depending on availability, you will be given Business Class tickets by your guide where you can sit comfortably in the air conditioned area. If you wish to be at the top deck where there is a better view then you will be given a general passenger ticket. The trip will take approximately 80 minutes from Upolu to Savaii and you can get the chance to see the beautiful islands of Manono and Apolima on your left side. If you are lucky then you might also spot a turtle, shark, dolphins or a whale on this trip across the open Pacific Ocean.

Savai’i is 80 kilometres (50 miles) long and 40km (25 miles) wide, with the dormant volcano Mt Silisili its highest peak at 1,858 metres (6,095 feet).
The island’s main town and arrival point for ferries from Upolu is Salelologa in the southeast, accessible by the main road that encircles the island.
Savai’i’s attractions include high waterfalls, caves and blowholes, and particularly the dramatic Saleaula lava fields and huge lava tubes that formed when Mt Matavanu erupted in the early 20th Century.

• This is somewhat hard for elderly people or those who have difficulty climbing steep staircases on a boat.
