Aracaju, named after the Tupi phrase ‘Cajueiros dos Papagaios’, holds the distinction of being Brazil’s first planned city, originally constructed on Santo Antônio hill. Our pleasurable 3-hour journey explores the numerous enchanting attractions of this northeastern capital of Brazil. Beginning at Santo Antônio Church, at the top of the hill, we’ll travel through the historical Antônio Franco and Virginia Franco markets, pausing to browse the native craftworks.
