A quieter, more traditional side of Tokyo - worth the visit! - I joined the Nezu Shrine and Yanaka backstreet walking tour on August 27th, and it was a fantastic experience. Everything was well-organized, and the tour went smoothly. Our guide, Sayo, was amazing. She was knowledgeable and friendly, making the history of the Yanaka area come to life. Walking through the backstreets, we visited small temples, craft shops, and traditional Japanese houses. Each stop was interesting, and Sayo’s explanations added so much to the experience. Nezu Shrine was beautiful, with its peaceful atmosphere and stunning torii gates. We also explored Yanaka Cemetery, which offered a unique look into the area’s history. A special treat was when Sayo took us to a local ice cream shop—such a nice surprise! We ended the tour at Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street and Yuyake Dandan. It was the perfect way to wrap up the morning. The tour was well-paced, and I never felt rushed. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a quieter, more traditional side of Tokyo. Thanks to Sayo!

Experience a more peaceful area of Tokyo - Yanaka is such a nice and historic area of Tokyo which should not be missed. On this tour, our guide Sayo-san walked us around some of the interesting sights and shared her detailed knowledge with the group. I learned a lot about the area and the traditional culture which marks the Yanaka and Nezu areas. I recommend this tour for tourists and residents who want to see a part of Tokyo where you can see history, culture and interesting architecture, without needing to deal with large crowds of tourists.

Off the beaten path around Yanaka, Nezu and Sendagi area - Our guide, Kanji, showed us around the Yanesen areas which foreigners wouldn't know much about. It's great to see old Japanese style houses still standing alongside modern houses in Tokyo. Walking around the Yanaka area brings retro feels. Seeing the small tori gates in Nezu shrine brings back memories of visiting Fushimi Inari. Looking at the different shops at the Sendagi shopping street makes you want to go inside each one of them. Thank you for a wonderful tour!
